I really, really want to love FW. I really do.
I've tried to organise Gallente channels, provide OB support (I have performed over 100 strikes now), and just have fun in squads. We're winning, but it's not fun, nor is it rewarding.

FW is completely unsustainable. It was insane to release it without a market - We told CCP this over and over before release.
Even if it did have a market, it still wouldn't be nearly sustainable in its current form. Why? The LP payouts are lacking. In order to get funding from FW equivalent to pubmatch funding, you need to be selling these items at a huge markup from what you can get from the market. It's an entire gamemode built around 'luxury' items that very few need. Even fewer will pay for them. Even if you're winning constantly with level 10 standings and a booster the theoretical income from a market is barely on par with pubmatches.

And frankly it's just unbearable to play. I have been kicked every time I try to get a solid session going. The first time it was an orbital strike grazing a blueberry - the overkill damage apparently catapulted me over the limit from something close to 0. All standings lost, 24 hour ban.

The second time it was another orbital. The area was completely clear of blueberries. Then a tank MWD'd through. It didn't even kill him - but I got kicked. All standings lost, 24 hour ban.

I can't even go and fight for my allied faction, because for some completely inexplicable reason I'm banned from EVERY faction contract.

Then when I actually can play it, it takes ages to queue because of the scotty errors. Scotty errors. You know, the blindingly obvious bug which devs mentioned and has a massive effect on FW queuing? Yet they're not fixed months after they started coming up. Not even in a massive series of revamps. This isn't even time you can use to tweak fits or whatnot - you have to sit at the deployment screen pressing 'x' over and over and over and over and over again.


Whilst running with a squad today, the following happened:

"Ooh, a match! *fatal error*
Damnit. Let's try in a squad.

*goes with squad* Here we go, finally, a match, after all the scotty errors.
*black screen crash*

Damnit.
*waits for squad to get out*
*rejoins squad after 15 minutes*

Yay, we're actually queuing!
*squad lead starts giving orders*
"Wait, you're in a match?"
"Yeah, aren't you?"

****."


I really can't stand it. I looked forward to this so, so much. Finally, I thought, the mode I've been waiting for! But this is a joke. A farce.


Before this, I was logging in every day to maintain my login bonus. I didn't have the energy to play. I've got a holiday now, over Christmas. I'd like nothing more than to be able to play a decent series of enjoyable FW matches that don't break my wallet or my heart. I'm not sure I can even bother to maintain the login bonus anymore - Every single significant patch so much has been ****** up it's unbelievable.
