Got my combat rifle maxed with the vehicle sp I got back and its a beast and also got the ADV rail rifle but I don't really like it.
Anyway, who still uses the gallente ar variants? Do you think they need some love?
Scr seems fine still but every merc I face who carries a gallente ar I have killed, iv only been killed by one when getting shot in the back or when I'm not really paying attention.
I can imagine the tac might still be nice but I have no intention of ever using them again despite having almost 100 officer vatiants, they just don't seem to cut the musturd anymore.

I use proto AR's, have been using them for about 10 months now, and I can say I got the weakest gun in the game now...
Every new gun in it basic form out shoots the proto AR
Even wearing a dren fat suit with two proto plates 10x damage mod and proto AR is no match
Maybe change as in lower the PG & CPU on AR to reflect the lack of power these gun do |

The only one that even fits in with lore now is the breach I believe, I'm not sure if its ROF does though and its actually better at hip fire than ads I have found.

I held to my TAC even after that old closed beta nerf, but now for the first time find myself using regular (auto) variant more... Duvolle Laboratories makes me feel young, no matter what. But some dev love would be nice. |

I was really happy to learn that all my SP invested in ARs because HMG was outranged by them was put to good use by instantly being put at the bottom of the rifle food chain....oh, and making the HMG worse in the process

SCR is great but better when coped with other Amarr tech. RR is **** for KB/M users. CR haven't try. |

Still use it, and it is still effective.
Within 20-30 meters I can beat a CR and ACR.
Under 20 meters and I destroy a CR and only have a hard time with the Six Kin ACR.
The six kin is the only weapon I can't counter if I'm caught off guard. Not a complaint, just a observation.

To put it simply:
The Aur combat rifle, with absolutly no skills in it, is better than the allotek burst AR
To say that the AR varients need do need some love is an understatement. Especially the breach, good god!

They could be hipfired and useful to some degree, but not they simply don't work. Why the TAR is worst is CQC then the ScR doesn't make sense since the Gallente rifles are meant to be the best for close range.
Iv got cr maxed but can't fit it on my logi suit unless I make a truly 'fake' logi :(
Its finally time I have to get CPU upgrade level 4 :( oh the horror.

Strangely, the ACR doesn't work as well as the CR.
The dmg is too low and the kick is too high. Also the higher fittings cost makes it tough for scouts. Your doing most of your killing in close range, so your better off with the smg in most cases(ans it's easier to fit)

This is exactly the same route I took, back when I was a wee blueberry I was getting into forges and decided be primary heavy because of it. However the HMG felt.. Wrong, lots of bullets for suppressive fire, but the gun just didn't quite do it, where as the super accurate good range ARs were the next closest thing.
I specialized into FGs for AV and ARs for AI, once my SP grew I put points into the SMG which heavily complimented both roles.
In this patch the only weapon that doesn't feel like it took a step back is my SMG, as it still has plenty of stopping power, just have to try and use the terrain and force infantry to come to you, or lolmurdertaxi |

Not sure if the AR is weak or if it's just that I have to adjust to the play style of a Gallente with a Gallente AR. When I use a Scrambler Rifle against Shield users, it rips them apart. But as a hybrid weapon with a focus against shield it still feels pretty weak.
I mean I'm realizing how effed I am long range but it seems like every other gun is long range at its core. Even the Combat Rifle.

my ar gek feels fine to me..i just dislike the changes the new bullets it fires. but its still the same to me. fires the same. hits the same. kills the same. but doesnt look the same. |
