Where do I begin...
The amount of frustration with these is unbelievable. They are my new "most useless aspect of the game." I can't imagine the amount of fail put into these things, the lack of development is mind blowing. Lately I've decided to try them for my squad, try to get an advantage and strategy going with my squad to where a dropship could help. But it's just impossible. Not only is controlling the worthless crap impossible, there is no gain, or benefit from using it. Sure, you can have people spawn and you can drop them somewhere... But even that is severely crippled. Here, let me try a list.
Controls; What the hell. It took me a while to get good at it, but even with me being good at it the dang maneuvering is unbearable. I'm pretty sure there are plenty of ways to program it so that people can actually FLY the ship. CCP; With you developing a game where you FLY ships, I have no clue how you messed up so bad with the one flying aspect in an FPS.
Landing; Ok so I should call it crashing, because landing is not something that really happens in this game. I've rarely seen people successfully land there drop ship. Most of the times, they destroy it or get very close to destroying it. Again, no clue how it's that complicated, but it is. Make landing, and salvaging our ship possible!!!!
War Points; It's obvious that a lot of people love them some war points, right? So uh... Where is the WP gain with the drop ship? Unless it's bugged, I'm not seeing any WP. I actively scan and detect enemies that flash on the radar, I provide a respawn point, and yet, nothing. I'll occasionally get random transport assist points, but usually it'll be below 20, and sometimes I get those points way later in the battle when I'm on foot and have departed from my ship. Pretty frustrating when you get no rewards for buying a costly ship that gets destroyed easily.
Normally I wouldn't whine and complain when it comes to a free game, but the fact that multiple people have brought the same problem up and it is an ongoing problem means it needs to be brought to attention. |
