The title says it all. Once the game is finally fixed and balanced, Dust patch 2.0 should be a cross-platform game between the PS3 and PS4.
on the following website: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/10/30/ps4-the-ultimate-faq-north-america/
we can read this interesting Q&A:
Quote:Can PS4 and PS3 users play together online, cross-platform?
The functionality is technically possible and some developers may choose to support it for their titles. |

PS4 is not linked to eve online though is it, you cant separate player bases between consoles for eve online integration.
Your assumptions aren't sound.
Anything connected to the internet can reach another device connected to it as well, you only need both devices to speak the same language.
The PS4 will be as capable as the PS3 to link up to Tranquility and play Dust.
Someone mentionned that, the PS3 port would have to be Identical to the PS4 port. That's another wrong assumption. Simply from a PC to another, my Video settings aren't like yours on other PC-only games. I might have better image quality but lower resolution. I might also volountarily reduce graphics quality to benefit from better FPS.
The same can be true for PS4 and PS3. Dust can have "ok" graphics on the PS3 and "awesome-lifelike" graphics on the PS4. After a few years, if the PS3 can't keep up they can announce that support will be dropped much like Square did with Final Fantasy 11. At some point they dropped the PS2 caus it was no longer able to follow the other platforms.
It's feasible but the game, right now, needs to fix all it's problems before ressources are dedicated to porting the game. |

you need to learn how games work pal, firstly the PS3 has 256mb of ram, the ps4 has 8gig, the ps4 can handle maps 10x bigger where the PS3 would not, so how can they make dust better? with 10x bigger maps then the ps3 cant play them and then they wont be linked and cross platform.
PS3 has 512mb of ram: 256 for the CPU and 256 for the GPU. PS4 does have 8gb of ram that is used by the AMD APU.
Improvements to the game can be made mostly to the graphics (better textures, models with better polygon count, etc.) that can be "exclusive" to the PS4. The PS3 can keep using the old textures and old models (as long as the hit boxes aren't affected) and it won't affect PS3 performance.
