Tanks have a a fairly difficult go around for killing other tanks even though we are the best suited to do it.
We can usually avoid each other or flee if the fight isnt going our way but we escape by the skin of our teeth (all mods down, less than half HP)
Which puts us in a VERY dangerous spot for AV.
If you're solo AV. Youre doing it wrong.
If you're grouped AV, youre doing it wrong but better.
If you're an AV user in squad with a vehicle. you're doing it right.
also nitrous mod needs to be removed. It no longer has a place with these new speeds. |

Uhh what?
I know that tank prices were reduced but you don't have an AV fit that costs 495k
you just dont. |

And still ridiculously effective.
Oh. I agree that SP spent needs to be more effective for tanks and the mlt ones need to be toned down significantly.
We agree you just misplaced your argument at first and confused me. |

I'm not sure that is coherent but I think I understand what you're trying to say.
It's because tanks cant drop uplinks or hack points or go indoors.
A theoretical match of 16 tanks vs 16 infantry (both are absolutely restricted to their role) would have the tank side getting approximately 3 kills before all points were capped and the infantry danced inside buildings celebrating their victory.
Tanks are a supplemental force to winning a match but they are far from any sort of ability to win it by themselves. |

KGB Sleep wrote:If it takes more than one proto AV to destroy a tank it should take more than one operator for a tank to reach full potential.
Tanks throughout history have been team vehicles.
At least 2 people to operate a tank. 1 driver / gunner and 1 active module operator / gunner.
So if no teamwork, which is now required of AV (and including a vehicle per OP) a tank should be an eggshell.
Easy to solo / repel.
Only as a team should they be strong. This is needed for balance because AV needs to team up to beat a tank and that means their team has to fit AV and be vulnerable to enemy infantry that doesn't. Losing primary slots to ineffectual swarms av nades or gimped FGs is a real hit while tankers get to multitask with modules and gunning.
Where's my backpack that shoots swarms while I fire my forge gun?
Tanks need to be broken into teams just like AV has been broken into teams.
Balance.
This is a completely different direction from where we were/are/are clearly headed. Why on earth do you feel this is necessary?
And tanks and AV are now symbiotic. I need you to help me kill vehicles, you need me to help you kill vehicles. I siege points. You capture points.
Stop thinking of AV vs tanks. That is no longer what AV is used for. |

Aye Ive been murdering tanks too with assist points nearly every time haha. Sometimes its even a MD that takes the kill.
Though since the change to OBs in FW, I don't really find myself caring about WP anymore. |

Tanks are simply OP dropsuits at this point. The tanker's team suffers no penalty for a tank being fielded. They should lose one person to help with that kind of firepower, resistance and burst invincibility.
To say otherwise, that tanks need infantry to run with them, is endorsement of blob warfare.
That's cool we did that in beta, big circles of boredom.
As it stands, we have to grab newberries and get them to a depot, get them to change to AV and run them to a tank to destroy it.
A tanker you should have to pick up a newberry and teach them how to run your modules or get your ass blown up.
All in the name of FUN!
PC matches are won through thousands and thousands of uplinks and pressure that only a dropsuit can provide.
A team fielding a tank loses one person pressuring objectives and gains a kill machine. your team can field a tank to make us do a tank dance. Or you can field a tank + one AV. This pressures me out of the match or pops me. Or you can forgo the tank friendly points and hold the city and the other team is down one person who can actually help in that situation because theyre sitting in a tank with nothing to shoot at.
And stop being in the mindset of AV vs vehicles. You wont kill me without a vehicle + AV. I wont kill your vehicles without vehicle+AV.
If you don't see how this encourages teamwork on both sides and is good for the overall health of the game... your light burns dim..
I would like to point you to this gentlemen, he knows whats up:

KGB Sleep wrote:Nope. As long as you get thousands of HP, are temporarily invincible and only have to use one person to do it you are OP. Why doesn't everyone field a tank? Who doesn't want that kind of power? Even I am running tanks now. You fail to address the point that a tanker's team does not suffer a penalty for fielding that kind of firepower. "Boots on the ground" is not a factor. Besides, why would my idea hurt that? Your newberry can jump out and hack points leaving you temporarily exposed. It's FAIR. I understand your point of view OP and I don't think you are wholly wrong but ONE person should be able to be destroyed by another single person. Teamwork should face off vs teamwork. I've had a few tonite so I would like to say no ill will.
You fail to read. :(

If this is too convoluted for you I apologize. A tank sacrifices boot power. The enemy team can capitalize on having more boot power, or take one of two other options to handle the tank.
Its not deathmatch. You shouldn't be worried about if you can quote "1v1 me fgt. gg no re"
You have options to make your team win. You have options to make me lose isk. You have options to keep your isk.
This promotes a healthy multidimensional game. |

Agreed. MLT tanks are too strong. This is because they removed all SP increases to hp/damage. SP now only increases time on field.
This is a valid argument. MLT tanks need to be nerfed. |

How, if that is the case for both sides, is that unbalanced? You can still tank dance with the stars.
Strength should come at a price and it becomes a matter of whose tank team is better.
I don't like your idea which is why I present my own. Hopefully that isn't too convoluted for you.
But then again you like to title your threads with YOLO and say fgt so it doesn't surprise me.
A tank does sacrifice boot power. I'm not dropping uplinks, spawning at uplinks, capturing points, reviving teammates, or any of the myriad of things ONLY infantry can do. Namely: Winning the game.
You should sleep sir. Your inability to respond directly to any post started at poor and has spiraled downward with time
EDIT:
Jack McReady wrote: first of all uplink spam causes framerate issues and no one wins with that kind of play.
beside that, games are won by keeping people AWAY from objectives, not by pressuring/hacking objectives. if you have to pressure objectives against a dedicated & organized PC team you are already losing the match. a tank, that is practically immune to infantry does anyway BOTH alot better compared to a suit that can die in 0.5 seconds to any weapon on the field.
I don't even begin to comprehend this. You have to take points to win the game. If they capture 3 and you capture 2 points at the start, the game isn't over. Your team takes a point and then tries to hold.
I admit my PC experience is small but it's clearly more than you've seen.
Thousands of uplinks happen to break the game, but they're not being dropped specifically to break the game, only to make killing the uplinks completely unreasonable and thus putting immense pressure on points. |

Your inability to respond directly to any post started at poor and has spiraled downward with time. sorry but this is just lazy gameplay on your part. you have, like anyone the option to carry uplinks on your suit, and nothing prevents you, to hop out for 1 second and drop an uplink when your modules are on cooldown cause you anyway should not be fighting at the frontline when your defense is down.
Oh you've never played dust. I got it.
You see the TTK is approximately three millions of a second and the TTDAU (Time to drop an uplink) is approximately 4 seconds out of a vehicle.
If I'm putting an uplink somewhere useful, I'm going to die.
If I'm not going to die, the uplink isn't useful.
Strictly speaking in a PC environment of course. |

I mean... technically yes...
but..
jesus man.
What?
Drop uplinks win matches.if they didnt you would have already been seeing the vehicle limit hit in every PC match but you never did because it sacrificed too much bootpower[tm] |

Funny, you're really struggling to insult me. That's what happens to people who get their potatoes pushed in with logic. Your points are mediocre at best. Your insult was pathetic. I hope CCP reconsiders tank balance to be more reliant other players since they obviously meant for there to be more than one person in a tank when they designed them.
You haven't responded to a single post. You quote my posts then make completely unrelated comments. :( |
