Been thinking about this awhile, the swarm launcher is out of place. All the the other heavy, light, side arm can kill no problem. Some can even destroy vehicles and installations. Yet, the swarm is only good for vehicles/installations. It doesn't make sense to have it with other weapons, when it clearly is just equipment. Dust is no longer the same game when dumb fire was taken out. Perhaps this is the time to bring it back? |

Swarms flying straight isn't a plus exactly. Besides, with this lock on range, I'd rather dumb fire them and actually aim versus getting into lock range.
Never said any side arms weren't capable of killing, just that swarms don't fit as a weapon. Since they technically don't kill like all the other primary/secondary weapons. |

Scissors seem to be fighting a lot of uphill battles with little incentive to do so .
Thank you for that. But the whole point of my post is swarms don't fit in with the other weapons. Since every other weapon can kill you if you are hit enough, but not swarms. They should either be weapons, or become equipment. |

Well of course swarms are bad against shields, that the whole point of explosives. MY point was that swarms are usually the better AV weapon and, if they were dumbfire, the better AI weapon when compared to the PC - and you actually proved my point, best case PC is about the same as worst case swarms. Plus swarms are easier to use. Any way, each has it's role; The PC is an alright AV weapon and an alright AI weapon, jack of all trades but master of none if you will - Swarms are a good AV weapon but can't take out infantry. Play smarter next time, if as an AV specialist you're face to face with an AR without back up - you screwed up. Don't go asking for a totally ridiculous role change / buff to cover for your mistakes. Alternatively, use a weapon that can deal with infantry as well but sacrifice some AV capabilities.
Swarms are only slightly better as an AV than PC, but PC can kill infantry. And the best swarms deal almost the same damage as the worst plasma cannon, not the other way around. The fact you think a one on one with an AR is cause for concern shows the gap between us. Dumb fire rockets are pretty standard as an anti vehicle mechanic., And was once a part of Dust. Were you even playing back then? |

It's also the only weapon that locks and tracks a target and I still remember the horrors of dumbfire swarm closed beta. Absolutely hell freaking no, unless there is a minimum arming distance of say 20 meters and no splash damage beyond 0.5 meters... And less damage for splash.
The minimum arm distance is a good idea. Personaly I don't know why swarms have splash damage anyway. It either hits the target or runs into something. |
