Damage*(RPM/60)=DPS
EDIT: Assault does more, as the damage is identical besides a faster RPM so the ADV versions for example normal is 448 DPS while the ARR has a DPS of 582
Keep in mind that while the extra DPS may seem great, in practice I usually find it worse as all of that range means little if you're using the crappy iron sights instead of the very precise scope.

I did not like the sights on the assault RR, it makes the gun look awkward, I prefer the standard hard hitting, long range variant, kick is essentially negligible, and the charge up time is non existant, plus you get a beautiful scope.
If you wanted a CQC fire arm the Combat rifle is the better of the two. Burst DPS is insane.

Yeah but I've been extremely effective in CQC against all forms of weapons using both rifles, I'm just curious which one does more DPS |

I edited my above post. the ARR does more DPS then the RR

Thank you, this is all I wanted to know. I can deal with the worst ironsights in the game, the more I use it the more comfortable I get with them. |

I believe the Assault.
And yeah the RR is a spray and pray in CQC and still effective. Just hold down trigger until something dies.
