Make it so that when a squad leader request an orbital, the zone is marked, similar to how theres a marker telling you where your vehicles gonna be delivered. Make sure the whole team can see the mark...

A good idea, but maybe marking it on radar would be a simpler solution.
The orbital auto-kick is immensely stupid. We've had matches where random blueberries wander in to ground zero in the few seconds after it was called it, and our squad leader gets kicked. I'd rather lose an entire team worth of clones then have an important team member kicked from the match. Biggest oversight in 1.7 IMO.
I personally think CCP should get rid of autokick altogether and try relying on just "punishment". But on the death screen, show how many TK's you have committed in the match and how much damage you've caused, and let your teammates be the judge of you. |

That would be a good idea, but yeah like you said some people would still run directly into it like lemmings. Would help for the people actually trying to be useful.

maybe orbital strike should be weighed vs enemies killed and friendlies. say a ratio of 5:1 or maybe a 8:1. what does everyone else think?

Weighting the percentage of friendly vs hostile damage would probably work, and could be expanded. Lets say you throw a grenade that kills 3 reds and one severely wounded blue who the reds were about to kill and this is your first friendly fire incident. Your percentage of attacks that did friendly damage did far more damage to reds, and since your damage ratio is higher than 75% when that guy punishes you, it doesn't actually count toward being kicked.
But, if you're a griefer and you go in and then intentionally kill 4 friendlies, the server checks on every kill and sees that you've hardly done any damage to the enemy and almost all to friendlies. Boom, you're out of there. It could help eliminate a lot of edge cases and be hard to exploit. |
