So assuming I'm not the only one, how are you guys doing with anti infantry? Have you just been ignoring your bonus and fitting missiles, or do you have some techniques to make blasters / railguns reliable? I find railguns to be basically impossible to use vs infantry (as they probably should be), but sadly enough, I find blasters to be even worse.
Do we have an anti infantry option other than fitting missiles, or is there something I've missed?

I find I just can't keep the ship steady enough long enough to keep that tiny dot on target to put out enough damage for a kill. At least with the railgun I get lucky and only need 1-2 hits to kill someone, but it's almost entirely luck based.
I mean, even when I manage to get the ship perfectly steady and line up a shot, the second you shoot the thing it nudges your ship slightly in a random direction, completely ruining your aim.
I just wish I had an anti infantry option beside skilling into missiles and giving up all the SP I've invested in the Incubus skill

Do we have an anti infantry option other than fitting missiles, or is there something I've missed? I've always wanted to like blasters, but I've been finding that the rail is actually workable against infantry. I think that this is due to the range. I popped a red with a headshot and have been honing my technique since. It also allows me to support tank v. tank or tank v. installation. Not sure it is actually better than missiles for the same purposes, but I'm finding it satisfying. I've landed a couple headshots too, and it IS very satisfying. That said, it seems almost entirely random, as you have to account for your ship movement, line up the tiny dot that blends perfectly into your ship, time the charge up of the railgun, then time the shots themselves while moving and trying to steady the ship, all the while having your ship slightly nudged around by the railgun itself, and that's all assuming no one has taken an interest to you and is shooting back.
I'm not against railguns not being reliable against infantry, I'm just against not having a reliable anti infantry option, where the Python gets a powerful anti infantry and anti vehicle option all in one.

The dark cloud wrote:lol railguns. Small missiles still deal more direct impact damage then railguns. So why should any 1 spec into them? You have way more DPS and range, and that's about it. (I can get 4 shots off in just a tiny bit over a second)
And because Caldari are filthy little creatures, and I'd rather see CCP work on either a blaster that isn't lol vs infantry, or a bonus that doesn't force us into one kind of turret, or an anti infantry railgun variant.
