I've spent a great deal of time and SP getting into a proto Caldari Logistics suit. I finally got into one a few weeks ago, and I haven't even used it yet due to my lack of shield skills. I've been maxing them out since then. I'm one level away from getting Shield Regulators to level 5. With these changes to 1.7, should I even bother? I'm tempted to just say F-it and dump SP into armor plates. They're easier to fit, and I still have four low slows which would be a major boon.
I've thought about going proto in a different suit for versatility multiple times, but every time I re-think that strategy and decide to max out my support skills. I can't get the SP back from the suit, but I know it's not a trash suit regardless of the changes. I'm sure in the long run everything will slowly balance out.
Ideas/suggestions? Continue with getting Shield Regulators to level five? Switch to armor because it's FOTM? |

I'd max your shield regulators, but definitely start leveling armor after. Just concern yourself with plates to begin with, if you're lvl 5 logi you've already got the equivalent of 1 Complex repper, make use of it. Even with the handicapping of shield extenders your recharge is going to be better than armor repair rates, so they're still usable.

Get Regulators. While Plates MAY be FoTM, Regulators will counter the nerf that Shielding just got. Plus, never EVER be the FoTM guy. It's a slippery slope.

Go for it, everything in the game is great when used in the correct situation but be advised that against decent players you had best run when you need to reload or attempt to cook a grenade and blow them up in 1v1.
You can get away with strafing newbs until they have reload as both guns are empty but against a decent player luck is a non factor.
Be careful of scrambler rifle users as well. For cqc where hp really matters I'd go for full plates, 2 damage mods and shields, for long range I'd go for 3 damage mods, shields, regulators etc as at long range you need to get about and other than snipers, gunfights are longer so you need to be popping in and out of cover with quick regens rather than Max hp.
Scrambler rifles are the bane of your existence as caldari.

TechMechMeds has good advice there, I'd take it. He never actually said which one to go for (Regs or Plates), but I assume Regs.

Meh. Regulators at 5 is wasted SP in my opinion. You'll get better mileage out of basic plates, or profile dampeners.
The issue with regulators is that if you get scanned, chances are they will kill you before you can see a benefit from your shorter delays. |
