Dust 514 had, and still has, a lot of potential. But CCP, I can't defend you anymore. Are you even trying?
As it stands, Dust 514 is a mediocre lobby-based FPS with some less than noteworthy concepts it borrowed from EVE and then implemented terribly. Dust 514's first steps were in 2009 at the very least. So what if you had to remake the engine from scratch because the PS3 couldn't handle Carbon? This is pathetic! We were told that Dust 514 would be an epic sandbox like EVE. It's been almost five years, and absolutely no signs of sandbox gameplay now or in the near future. Progress is slow as hell for everything else, too. Rebalancing and content seems to come drip by drip, and the quality of this wretched liquid is foul as the plague. CCP, I can't defend you. You have no excuse for this...
Sorry, felt like raging for a bit there. I feelz better nao.

REALLY????
CCP really claimed this would be sandbox? hahahahaha, OMFG DUST is absolutely nothing like a sandbox game. It's extremely anti-singular instance, everything EVE was known for. DUST is like a crap version of BF3 when it should be more like a crap version of GTA. CCP should keep the PS3 version going for the fanbois to keep the money rolling in, just randomly buff and nerf equipment and suits to give the illusion someone is working on it. But in reality CCP is rebooting the entrie project from scratch onto PS4 and do it right from the start, sandbox

Unfortunately it seems they are actually regressing even farther into the lobby shooter genre. We are farther now from a sandbox game than we were in Chromosome.
Madness is the emergency exit. You can just step outside, and close the door on all those dreadful things that happened.

I have a PS4 and on PS3 i hate dust, gfx are not everything sure, but when the gfx are so poor and the fps so bad it affects gameplay and makes me just want to go play COD1 multiplayer...
sigh... now onto the PS4, 10x more power than the PS3, this had the potential to make dust a huge open world or instanced sandbox game, with amazing gfx... but nope the reason this will never happen is because when they do release it on PS4 if... then they will have to keep the PS4 in line with the PS3, so they could not make maps 10x bigger because PS3 cant handle it and it would be unfair for ps3, they cant do 64+ man battles because the PS3 can't handle it.
This is the biggest fail in gaming history i've witnessed, why CCP WHY DID YOU NOT WAIT FOR THE PS4...
I really hope dust dies, which it will now everyone is getting a PS4 and CCP will realize AGAIN what they have done, they are like an old colonial empire that does not learn. |

not even 4000 players...
WHY?
2 reasons:
- ps3 only
- protostomping (new players uninstalling after being oneshot)

Haha, yeah... Dust 514 had the potential to be bigger than EVE, but CCP totally blew it.

Back when there were only 5 guns to choose from and hardly anybody had access to prototype gear yet? |
