For a long time on the forums now i see people complaining that "vehicles are broken" and well i would like to say that this statement is a lie. Lets start of with drop ships, often i will see people using them for getting to sniping perches or rooftops to place Up-links that fine and all but drop ships where designed to do something a little bit better than that. Drop-ships are designed to get infantry onto a objective while taking moderate amount of fire, also to provide infantry support such as gunning and scanning, now never for the 2 months i have been playing dust, have i seen an cooperation using drop-ship for what they were designed to do, however my cooperation is an exception to that. Lets move on to assault drop-ships, if you think running solos a good idea think again, having those extra gunners could make you just that little bit more powerful in aerial and ground based combat, i personally run with 1 gunner who i have to say is an absolute beast in those guns. On to tanks now, often you'll see now in 1.7 solo tankers with no extra guns... this is almost nearly suicide, see what you need for tanks to not be broken is to run and organized tank crew for extra gunning that way your organized and have more eyes and are generally more deadly. Our final topic now LAVs these are only "broken" because of how people use them, they are not "murder taxi" infant all they are designed to do really is get to objectives fast and to provide small amounts of fire and small scans and other infantry support based items. Now on a final note this is not me ranting about it i just want us dusties to actually understand vehicles and use them for what they were designed for. Peace.

Wut. I solo in my Gunny.
I have lost three tanks to infantry. All were thanks to multiple (I think three?) forgers and swarmers. I was also not paying attention.
I HAVE LOST MORE TANKS TO THE REDLINE THAN TO INFANTRY.
This is a little much. I'm not that good a tanker.
Cosgar: You know, tanks are actually paper thin once their modules are in cooldown.
(Am too sleepy to quote properly)

You spelt "I" wrong. I wish we had a facepalm smiley on this forum.
Also, "Corporation".
And if you can't learn basic English spelling, please at least learn to use paragraphs to break up the wall of poorly-written text. it's incredibly hard to read when there's no paragraphing AND no capitalisation or other proper punctuation.
But going back onto the topic... a good solo tanker with their vehicle built around being a solo tank can do pretty well for themselves. But WITHOUT going solo, you can also do really well with good teamwork in a well-fitted tank with a full complement of turrets. In a straight-up fight, the tank with more turrets is likely to win against a solo tank - IF it has a gunner or two. If not, the solo tank has more PG and CPU to spare by skipping the extra weapons, and probably has something extra to make it a little tougher or faster or hit a little harder.
And yes, there are a few glitches that gives tanks some advantages they aren't meant to have. Those have been discussed, and yes, to some degree, they are responsible for many of the "vehicles are broken" complaints. |

Sorry about the spelling lol first post but yes i do agree with you on that if they fit their tank well then yes it could easily work.

I dunno ive played a couple of games yesterday (10) or so and in Domination one side has ussually 3-4 tanks and the game turns into tanks Yo-Yo'ing into the redline to kill anything that aproaches, or the poor few souls who do swap to AV are getting pwnd by infantry wanting a kill, before the tank nabs it....then when a tank does goes into armor, it races off faster then my 420 HP R32 GTR can accelerate to 100 kph and then returns 20 seconds later all new.
In ambush theres ussually now 3-4 tanks aswell and when one side looses their 3-4 tanks first, that side looses hard because even against Militia Tank Turrets my suit with 900 ehp just holds up 2-3 rounds and all we can do is sit in a building waiting for their infantry to come and get us, witch without their tanks to back them up, never goes too well.
Ive tried tossing proto nades and the tanks just accelerate away so fast that the second grenade always misses.
Ive not seen tanks this broken since Chromosone...

I've been having the f*cking time of my life scanning with a Dropship. I lose a bit of ISK, but I can afford it, and even though my WPs plummet, it's pretty damn fun, and a break from the Assault role I've been playing since I started. It's all Militia stuff, but i'm beginning to seriously think about putting some SP into it.
Every time I try to walk away, something makes me turn around and stay, and I can't tell you why
