It seems that currently the standard level light frame is more expensive than the standard level scout suit.
Scout M-1 - 3,000 ISK Minmatar Light Frame M-1 7,600 ISK
I know I'm not the only one who has noticed this and it has to be a mistake. Why would the basic light frame cost more than the more advanced scout. It really doesn't make sense.

Maybe more of an incentive to buy SP boosters. More ISK, less SP vs. less ISK, more SP actually makes sense to me, factoring in microtransactions, which, obviously, CCP is no stranger to.
Wait, but is it just on the scout suit? |

Nope it is true of every type of suit. Perhaps it is intentional but it really seems like it penalizes new players more.
Once you have the SP invested in a suit role so that you can use the scout suit, for instance, you should have more than enough isk to afford a slightly more expensive suit. New players, who are just starting out though, and are loosing far more suits per match. Are going to have a much more difficult time affording these more expensive suits with all their fittings.
I like that the game is "hardcore" and favors experienced players like my self but this just seems straight up anti-competitive.

All Light Frames, Medium Frames, and Heavy Frames cost the same per tech level. so all x-1, x/1-series and xk.0 are the same. All Racial Role suits cost the same. Sentinel, Scout, Logistics, and Assault cost the same for x-1, x/1-series, and xk.0 suits.
By investing more SP you get racial bonuses, role bonuses, and cost reduction. You only need Racial Frame lvl 3 to get into Role suits. I'd rather run a STD Assault than a PRO Medium Frame, so no real problem with it.

My problem with it isn't at the proto-level. No one should be running proto-basics anyway really as it is so much worse than the class variants. No, my problem is at the standard and advanced level where newer players are more likely to be getting their suits. This really needs to be fixed for the sake of newer players.

I've brought this up before, and I agree it's bad design. It's unlike any other aspect of the game, it doesn't make any sense from any perspective other than to encourage buying SP boosters. It removes variety from the game, by making the few, minor advantages the basic frames have over the specialist suits (slightly different slot layouts) cost prohibitive.
RDVs are a failed experiment - can't we just remove them from the game?
