I honestly don't mind jihad lavs much, their fun to use/shoot at. You should also give it a few days so people can figure out av tactics, cause right now the same old stand on top of tower and shoot tank till it dies tactic doesnt work.
Also not every tanker whined mind you, just like only a minority of avers are whining right now. We were just having interesting discussions and giving out ideas. I also wouldnt pronounce myself much on "op" tanks before the mlt nitrous is fixed (cause it is ******* broken atm"

Did I claim you were whining? And yea, the lav is a perfectly viable solution. I killed a tank a madrugar earlier with it. I also got killed by one.

there is a major issue with the fact av now has a tiny range compared to a map ceiling of over 1000m and on some maps the span is probably double if not more than that. but all vehicles can run effectively outside the ranges of all av making it all pretty much useless. Dropships have suffered a lot in the past, let them be. Besides, only a handfull of extremely skilled pilots can make them really dangerous

I will make the first move, while spending a good 1+ mill into tanks as per today. CCP will and has planned to actively tweak what they've released with this patch. It's really not that big a deal man. It is when games come down to what team has the most tanks.
IT REALLY IS a big deal...man.... It's a refreshing change to whoever has the most gal logis. Don't forget quality > quantity, I took on two tanks earlier and still won

Besides, only a handfull of extremely skilled pilots can make them really dangerous its a dropship.... the cargo is what's meant to be dangerous not the ship itself. the whole point is to get in fast...drop the cargo and leave, hence its called a dropship not a heavy bomber. its not meant to sit there hovering sniping at anything on the ground that moves while every piece of av on the ground is shooting at them doing little to no damage, that is if they can actually get in range. i know of a few tankers who made do with the so called weak tank from before 1.7 yet dominated almost every game. i guess they are still happy because now they can do it without any risk off death. i also know of 1 who always ran with crew but now with the changes he could barely fit a tank of any use and if he even attempts to allow crew in his vehicle it puts him at a disadvantage to all other tanks who don't allow for crew. come to think of it last i saw of him was him trying to fit a tank and then he logged off. not seen him since. I meant assault dropships

and on the note of balance, it is day ******* 2 of this update, both sides need time to get used to and explore options for their respective styles, what this means is that everyone needs to get used to the new active module system, and more importantly pay more attention to what their damage type is, for example if i'm in a shield dropship with a 60% hardener on, don't expect to get anywhere shooting me with swarms, the damage you do is so little i can actively ignore till the last 5 seconds of my activation time, then i pull back out of range. if there's a forge gun shooting me however, i still panic and get the hell out of there, though hugely reduced with hardeners on FGs still kill me pretty quick, hell two FGs in tandem will punch through my hardener so fast half the time i don't have time to activate my booster. so, use the correct damage type for the correct tank, its as simple as that. though i will admit swarms could probably do with a damage buff, i speak as a shield user though, so i don't know if that's appropriate compared to how they fair against armour vehicles.
as for tanks, they are currently bugged, as such any balance discussions about them will be worthless till he bug is fixed, this is due to the fact that they are bugged, they aren't working as they normally should, hence any balance attempts will be against the broken model, screwing over the intended one. that said some, such as jason pearson (a tanker btw) have suggested reducing tanks base speed, so that it takes longer to escape the danger zone, hence giving AV more time to shoot at it.
and please, can we just leave all the insults, drama, raging e-peens, superiority complexes at the door and attempt a useful, civil, and productive conversation? Same here, I am starting to get infected by trollism. I'm just tired of making intelligent repplies and listening to what others have to say when they don't even make the effort of considering what I say. AND IT'S PRESENT ON BOTH SIDES!!!! BOTH ******* AV AND ******* TANKS...
