Extra note: Tanks are pretty f** ng stupid as it is, but chromo tanks were a lot worse.
We feel the differencea lot more now because ALL AV weaponry ,well....EFFECTIVE AV weaponry has been nerfed.
PLUS vehicle drivers forget they ALWAYS have something broken on their favor, like pre 1.7 armor reppers, and now after 1.7 Afterburners. Is the Silent Permament buff they always get....

Tankers believe it should take a group of AV or another tank to destroy them.
I believe then it should take a group to operate a tank at full potential.
Other games do it. Battlefield comes to mind w/ CITV / Passives.
Push to make active module use the responsibility of a second person.

that is basically it, most tank pilots behave like average CoD kids, they want be able to run into a squad alone, kill everyone and move out alive and if it does not happen, they cry on the forums. the result is, tanks got alot cheaper, are twice as tough and AV got nerfed. it would be naiv to believe that this will stay like it is now, CCP will sooner or later realize the mistake and swing the nerf hammer again. on the other hand I am amazed that the change went through, if you did the math on the announced changes you already saw it coming, CCP obviously never tested it.
small note, pre patch tanks with max SP and proper fit took 20 - 30 seconds (depending on the amount of damage mods) to kill SOLO. the problem was to reach that state took alot of SP but you could get into full proto AV in a week. I wonder what those people crying about solo guys killing them did in those timeframe. proof and math was shown months ago. all those whine posts did is just highlight all the bad tank drivers.
finally, it is simple, as long as a tank only needs 1 person to operate, 1 person has to be able to get the ability to hold him off, otherwise your create artificial number advantage for the team with more tanks which is not balanced at all. the latest games speak a clear language, tanks everywhere, you cant even call a LAV cause the teams limit is filled out with only tanks. |

Yes it is if you co-ordinate & you have half decent AV to co-ordinate with.
Tell that to the newer squishy mercs with no or minimal skills in AV, who either get tag teamed by multiple tanks or multiple tanks & dropships. Better yet for the newer squishy mercs when they aren't getting getting tag teamed by vehicles they are getting steamrolled by vets with high end gear or advanced gear with high end skills.
Gee for some its waaaaaay easier to pop tanks

I think for what its worth tanks are in a good place due to their movement they can get out of danger pretty quick. I think av nades need un nerfing cuz if u get jumped now its your own dam fault and have std and mil swarms do a tad more damage so a tank driver still has to disengaged.

when it was 1.6 it was us tankers compaling we were under pwoered wich we were if you comapred 1.6 vehicles with the chromosme ones.
now after god knows how long after nerf after nerf to vehicles. the one build that is base around vehicles 1.7 sees the AV user's complaing tanks are now OP sicne thier single minded attitude of attempting to solo a tank no longer works. and that the best way to deal with tanks is tanks or team work(which aot of av useres seam incapable of doing).
i say after suffereing from nerfs for 6 months. AV useres shoudl suffer the same.
so av useres. enjoy 6 months of but fuckery from 1.7 tanks that dont die when you attempt to solo them. |

But then, it's not fair that tanks are now their own best counter, because infantry should do it, blah blah blah.
