Just like the subject says, I would love to know how a cal suit fits onto the battlefield now and actually competes with armour being so damn op |

Get a rail rifle and maximize the use of it's range. I recommend having a solid sidearm (SMG) with some real SP investment for the CQC work.
Staying at range lets you maximize your shields. I am fully aware that if you are over exposed or in a street fight it's very tough sledding due to TTK issues. The Caldari work on speed, flanks, and keeping enemy at range while hammering them. |

Problem is more to do with shileds being too weak compared to armor the caldari are ment to be the shiled buffer race they are also ment to be slow and have the least armor but the most range at the moment the caldari suit is in a position where its more viable to dual tank it than do a pure fit which should never happen.

Not sure if this is the true reason but, the changes do seem like they are pushing you to use shield regulators or have the same shield delay as an armor suit. The use is still the same, flank. |

Could always go with the cookie cutter Caldari Logi. Armor tank it, throw a bunch of complex damage mods and whatever weapon is the most powerful at the time (Mass Driver, Flaylock etc). Tried, true and CCP has yet to fix it.
Surprisingly, Caldari Logi is a better Armor/DPS Tanker than the Gallente Assault. Funny how that works, eh?
