On PC's, long TTK's (like what we had before) are acceptable because M&KB is a much more precise mode of playing in terms of aiming.
However.
Long TTK's when using a DS3, for most (casual) players, is very cumbersome because of the imprecise inputs of the analog stick. Compounded with SP gap, ISK gap, and experience gap, new players never stood a hell of a chance.
But with a short TTK, instead of going 1/15, a casual noob might go 5/17 (because noobs can't die any faster than they were before). And that might make a difference in weather or not the player stays or leaves. (But of course there are other reasons to leave such as being thrown in games with players with SP, ISK and experience advantages. |

I don't hate scouts. Just the dumb people that think it's a sin to use health mods for certain situations. Oh, and the people that think the only way to be a "true scout" (what ever the **** that means ) is to stack 9 Dampener modules and nova knives. |

Low ttk limits diversity of fittings and makes the game less like dust was supposed to be. Sp gaps should be dealt with by matchmaking.
That is true. Lower TTK dilutes the significance of SP.
What CCP is trying to do, is find a right balance between SP/ISK advantage and TTK. CCP Remnant mentioned this in his interview.
TTK vs SP is still a work in progress, unfortunately. Or I suppose, if you are a "glass half full" kinda guy, fortunately. |
