Dev says that the state of the game is currently the best it has ever been in terms of controls, aim assist and other factors, all of which have contributed to the longer TTK in the game.
Player posts thread claiming that means they want the shorter TTK we have as a result of these problems being fixed.
This happens in spite of the dev in question directly stating that the ideal TTK would allow for weapon and defensive upgrades to come into play - meaning that shield extenders and armour plates should have some value, and that weapon mods should make enemies die faster.
GG. Reading comprehension is UP, buff plz. |

GG. Reading comprehension is UP, buff plz. The problem is that he implied that it's the best it's been currently and came of as implying that it needs some work but not much. That is the core of the issue, I believe most players believe it's got ridiculously short for AR's and Scramblers where as he is saying it only needs a tweak. I thought he was saying that the negative factors contributing to a high TTK were the best they've ever been - which they are, hence the current TTK being too low because it's still balanced for the flaws in the system.
He specifically described the ideal TTK for DUST in terms that don't fit the current state of the game at all.
EDIT: As for the second-to-second gameplay being the most enjoyable? I don't agree, but I will say that it's the most CONSISTENT it's been. In past builds, there's always been the hit detection issues, control problems, etc. holding it back, and those aren't as major a problem any more. |
