Technically there is a cap. :P
I do see the reason behind this though. I have AR Ops 5, Prof 3, Sharpshooter 3, and Ammo Capacity 2. If the Combat Rifle had been out at the time I decided to go with ARs, I probably would have skilled into CBR instead, because I like the gun a lot more. There is no "Back-up Rifle", there's only the one that is the strongest. You can't have a back-up rifle unless you're running Commando. Other than that, it's a matter of which is the better gun. Normally, it's the one you have more skills in.

I said I see the reasoning behind it, I didn't say I support it. I hope you had fun writing the wall of text though. :)
EDIT: Also, "knowing" they were coming, doesn't mean I know the stats behind them. For all I knew, the Combat Rifle and/or Rail Rifle could be completely terrible weapons.

KAGEHOSHI, you always seem to make sense. What's your secret? :D
But yea. I support a weapon respec, definitely. When there's finally the other racial suits, yes please. Sadly, I do not think that the other racial weapons will come out. Rifles are sort of an exception, being a very common weapon on all battlefields, but I don't think that a Caldari Shotgun will ever be a "thing", nor will a Minmatar Sniper Rifle (Although a Mosin-Nagant type of weapon would be pretty awesome), nor will the Gallente Forge Gun, and so on.
Racial Suits, and Racial Rifles. Those are the two things I want a respec in when they hit "symmetry", as KAGE called it. Because I want my Caldari Scout, when it hits market, and I want my Boundless CBR, because I love me a Burst Rifle. Always. They're the best.
So yup. I think part of the problem is SP gain/Skill Costs. In EVE, I never felt a huge grind for equipment. The biggest grind I had there was getting my Heavy Scout Drones, and even then it was about a day or so. And I understand this isn't EVE, but you need to remember that a F2P game with such a long grind is REALLY bad for business. Warframe, for example, probably should hold the record for the longest grind, and it seems like every time I try to play that game, I instantly get turned off by the 3-day hunt for craftables. Same with War Thunder, and same with... Well, most F2P games in general.
I know that they need the grind to be big, so people will buy boosters, so that they get more money, but I actually think bigger SP gains and lowered skill prices would INCREASE the money they make. More SP gain = More SP gained from boosters (+50%, right?), which means more people want boosters, because they just got a buff.
But I don't know, just thoughts. Maybe if they made it like EVE, where you can train skills in real time? Reply to this with your suggestions. :)
