Well, but behind a character there is a person.
I'll try to make a childish example:
We are children and we are playing hide and seek, it's my turn to seek, someone in the other team decide to help me, he knows where are his teammates
The first time is fun, the second time is fun, the third time is getting boring. For me that i have to seek and for the other team that hides.
Multiply it for a decent amount of griefers....

i spent my childhood in amungst a legion of children in a townhouse making up games for everyone to play. if you can think up some stupid way some kid tryed to ruin things, ive seen it and thought up a way to turn it back into fun.
its all just a game in the end and your always free to change the win condition.
