Two of the main reasons people proto stomp in insta battle, is to either to make easy isk, or to make them selfs feel special by increasing there bollocks stats.
Having stats in insta battle renders them totally pointless. A game where your actions on the battlefield are supposed to effect a larger virtual universe, you should have stats that reflect your actions within said universe. So stats should be recorded on modes like FW and PC, modes that effect the virtual universe. Your stats would then better show your capabilities within the universe.
As it is now some peoples stats mean nothing, as all they have done is stomp people who did not have a chance. Its like having two people in a real war. One kills 4 trained soldiers and the other, go's to a alternate universe and kills 40 school children, who have paper cups to defend themselves with. On paper the second soldier looks better as the stats don't take in to account who he's killed just the number, also the kills he made did not effect anything in the main universe.
Removing stats from the insta battle mode, means the people how just want to get an easy K/D ratio will have to actually have to play the main game to get there stats. Insta battle modes should be for casual gamer's, training and making isk. You could then leave insta battle with no friendly damage and auto aim option, but then remove no friendly damage and auto aim from all other modes.
Some proto stomping would still exist as people would still need to make isk. Also the main reason that this game suffers from such a imbalance in matches, is because this game has tried to take MMO elements of leveling up weapons and armor, and then put those elements in to a basic lobby shooter game. Yes some skill is required, but if you take two equally skilled players one in full proto the other in full militia gear, the proto would win at least 80% of the time. This game might want to be a MMO but for now its just a glorified beta.

A team of 6 protos against a team of randoms can easily 15-0, 21-0,etc. I've seen it happen plenty of times, from both sides. |

Teamwork is important, but each of them wearing protos skews their stats. Teamwork tends to be multiplicative, so a standard wearing team would be like 15x easier to kill than a proto team. With all proto, you have multiple proto weapons focusing fire, and if one gets injured they can hide while the other four pop out. If standard is 1, advanced is 2, and proto is 3: team standard would be 5, team advanced would be 10, and team proto would be 20.
I don't know how to explain well what I mean. I guess that it's much easier to defeat a team of advanced or standards because you can usually kill a weak member before they get to cover. With proto teams each individual member has too much health to be easily killed in a single engagement so it becomes much harder for them to die compared to if it were a team of advanced wearing people. |

Regardless, you went from talking about protostomping to stomping in general. Consistency, please.

Removing stats from instant battles won't stop stomping. All through chrome we got no stats for running skirmishes and they still got stomped.

I said reduce not stop, people will still stomp for SP. but there stats should reflect there ability's within EVEs virtual universe, not how good they are at killing players, wearing cardboard boxes and shooting water pistols AKA Militia gear, in insta battles. |
