Damage mods all together make weapons way over powered they should be removed or reduced to one damage mod a suit. I was in a assault suit, with only 600 hp combine health and a gek did over 1500 hp damage. Also this happen with std scrambler rifle as well. Is this correct how can it do 1100 hp damage more with gek!!!!!!! The DPS is outrageous on assaults and also Scram rifles. Logi suits are running up to 3 to 4 damage mods on a logi suit is this for real yes this is what it comes to who has the most damage mods wins not the GUN GAME at all....PLEASE CCP FIX THIS!!!! OR Possibly reduce logi to side arm they are intended for support NOT ASSULT!!! |

Then the Gallente/Amarr suits would be forced to stack shield extenders. That isn't right. Want we need are more viable high slot mods, like armor hardeners, heat sinks, and stamina mods. You know, armor-support mods, ones that armor tankers would find useful.

Naw the difference in TTK caused by damage mods is pretty minimal. With three damage mods your barely looking at 25% more damage per round. The 4th damage mod is basically useless thanks to the stacking penalty. The real problem is that the weapon damages were set back before hit detection was fixed so now we are left with this crazy TTK. Once they have all the weapons and suits in there will need to be a round of major rebalancing.
Don't take out damage mods. That would kill creativity in fitting. Simply rebalance the weapons' base damage to acomodate the new TTK.

Damage modifiers are just a scapegoat. In actuality, they're pretty well balanced. They let you kill faster, sure, but you have fewer slots left over for tanking, so you'll die faster, too. The real problem lies elsewhere, and you should realize that.

People who run that many should be punished not rewarded. |

And no, stop blaming the damage modifiers. The problem is far, far larger than just them.

Try maths instead of just randomly trying to find scapegoats. I can't seem to find the post, I'll keep looking, but Checkmate used to be a damage mod hater too, until he did the math (in his own thread trying to get rid of them, no less) and realized that if he took his Amarr (logi a/1?) suit and either:
Brick tanked it with all complex shield extenders Or Stacked 3 damage mods (not 4 because that's stupid, it adds maybe 1-2% more)
If you then stand them facing each other and start firing, they would kill each other at the exact same time, and I mean down to hundredths of a second. Damage mods have a stacking penalty and are therefore not, I repeat, not better than shield tanking. I use 3 on my sniper suit, maybe 2 on a couple others, but mostly just one because they simply are not OP.

No you are wrong. New players are getting wrecked because of their lack of skill more than anything.
I can run with a pure starter fit and still do decently simply because I've maxed out my core skills giving a slight advantage.
Damage mods are a balanced fitting option and you need to step back and get some perspective before you make any more wild accusations.

I dont run a single damage mod on my scout and can kill most suits out there with my scrambler pistols battery...
