Personally I don't bother, just let the logis run one, I just fit my REs and have fun.

Proto gal scout plus full rack of complex range extenders, nearly 3 million sp, 1 scan precision enhancer, and still can't out-scan a standard active scanner. the entire suit dedicated to scanning and he can't beat the scanner. (he also doesn't alert enemies to being scanned, but eh.)

hey sin, idk if you remember me but i have a gallente basic scout proto. i was just wondering with my reduction to my db am i still highlighted while running even if im not scanned? |

Honestly, I recently found that my KDR gets better if I use a scanner on my Assault suits. I concerntrate on armor repair, uplinks, and nanite injectors on my logi suit.

Prefer REs. Open maps I'll run a scanner to avoid getting ganked from a distance if no one is running them.

I always have a scanner on my 'Dren' scout. I don't see why other CQB scouts don't (unless they have good passive scanning, but still that's not too reliable). Knowing not only where enemies are, but where they're looking gives a tremendous increase to survivability.
One armor plate isn't going to help you much, definitely any less than knowing where you enemies are.

And decrease the range of active scanners.
As much as I hate active scanners, that change seems a bit too drastic.

Scout db an persicion should be 40.
It's mighty odd how a minja can get a better percision to find a gallente, but doesn't have the range to see a gallente first or profile to ghost from one without a mod, an the gallente can only get about 30db persicion with a mod, yet the minja can't assassinate worth crap the way most would fit it..... But if you ran the weakest suit ever you would have a serious assassin suit an maybe it should run like this:
1complex shield
2x complex or adv percision to get you under 28 db
An two complex range
With a duplicated suit with a basic pd in exchange for the range mod, but if their getting you with the 15 db either use the previous mentioned scan fit with remotes , knives, flux an smg for those quick sneaky fast kills so you can see what they see or go to a combat suit with a scanner an scan back so you can avoid them.
I am interested to try this minja sensor suit, I did with my gallente an I got plus 20 kill games using knives so I wonder how it transfers to the minja |

A.Scanners should be powerful but should cost the player their Equipment slot/ AKA an IMPORTANT SLOT>
Logis care not to spend 1 E. Slot for something as powerful as an A.SCanner.
Hell , id doesnt even need to be Scout only, just Logis shouldnt be able to equip them.
This would even bring some balance regarding logis...

Logibro here, but when I wana have sum speedyfun I always bring a scanner. Like the other guy said knowing which way ppl are facing is a saving grace, any red dot on my radar points toward the center, and I put cover between us. Seems the logical choiceof equip to me. |

Worked well I went 10/3 dying only from letting myself be seen by being to aggressive, missing behind attacks or blue berries shooting an alerting my targets, all an all not a bad suit but lack of stamina an speed made me abort targets, scanner would have cost less slots an gave me 28 sec to flank from my team an probably would have worked better |
