So I posted a thread about this suit in the GD. It was suggested I may get more chance of a Dev response if I were to post here.

ill try and outline the key points;
Mk.0 is already an under used suit in PC, due to low EHP. Impending shield nerf will hit this suit hard, as its predominantly a shield tanker. I know most people will run 3/4 complex shield extenders to get anywhere near a sufficient HP pool.
Mk.0 is a 'niche' suit, low EHP fast run and gun tactics.
Mk.0 has low resources, people are increasingly finding it hard to fit a full 5 complex mods on the highs without sacrificing one of the two lows for a PG upgrade or CPU upgrade. Even with full skills.
Mk.0 Suit bonus, not that noteworthy considering other suit bonuses buff their HP or Main Weapon, not side-arm.
Ideas to increase viability;
Add another low slot so we can fit a PG/CPU upgrade without sacrificing speed/HP
Increase the CPU/PG.I think this as a standalone buff would not be enough, maybe a base suit HP increase as well as.
Decrease the scan profile on the suit, increase the likelihood of closing the enemy down without being seen, allowing for more run and gun tactics.
Increase suit speed so we can utilize the lows without having to put two kinetic mods on.
Re-work the suit bonus to include Main weapon clip size increase also (maybe just Minmatar weapons)
I would love Dev response to see if CCP are aware this suit is vastly underused in PC, and public games. And if they have anything in the pipelines to fix this.
More opinions welcome. |

If the Assault MK0 gets those buffs, then it's scout counterpart will be 100% useless.
I'd say give it a 3rd low in exchange for 1 high slot. |

I'd say give it a 3rd low in exchange for 1 high slot. I'm okay with this. I've been running proto Minmatar since Uprising, and it would be if it were a bit more flexable. But please don't take my Sidearm clip bonus!

I too like the side arm bonus, buts its just not enough when you compare it to other suit bonus'. If it where to effect ALL weapons then id say we were a bit more on track. |

Well i believe scouts could be getting a speed bonus anyway, so if that happends id expect the Mk.0 to get one as well.
Profile dampening is an odd one, I wouldnt lower it to scout levels BUT i do think it should only take one low slot to be able to get under proto scanners if the whole point of the suit is to be CQC.
Again im just hashing out some ideas, I realise not all of them are brilliant but its a start.
I cant see any option to reduce the highs in favour for a low, it should just be an increase in lows and keep the highs the same, its a shield suit so should have the most highs imho. |

disagree. It will then mirror the caldari layout.
I like the MK0 layout - and the idea the sits behind what the MK0 is supposed to be
But the suit bonus need to be reworked - true of all suits to make them distinctive - and the problem CCP caused themselves with a cross the board armour buff, added to which a shield regen nerf.
for the MK0 perhaps bonuses along the lines of % bonus to the regulator to make them worthwhile fitting them or in-built % damage bonus for weapons

Ahh now I see your point. Then maybe +7 PG & +40 CPU would help out
Along with a speed increase. Give light frames +1 m/s and the Assault Mk0 .7 m/s. It would make sense to have Scouts at 35 db to start with, then maybe bringing the Mk0 down to 40 db.
After all skills, I think the Assault MK0 should have at least 30-35 shield recharge per sec. Then buffing scout shield recharge to 45.

I don't use Caldari suits, so I didn't know the layout, but I get your point. Give the Assault MK0 a bonus clip size to primary and sidearms then we'll have something.
I'd much rather see a buff to shield regen values rather than regulators. Less likely to have shields broken if the regen is higher. Give the Assault MK0 30-35 shield regen after all skills and I think it'd be in a better place. |

the caldari assault suit bonus used to be 5% bonus to hybrid weaponry reloading.... but too many people complained that it wasnt as good as the gallente bonus and that shield tanking needed a buff. so ccp gave us our current bonus. but after seeing the reload time on rail rifles... i wouldnt mind going back to the old bonus. the caldari assault suit is the only assault suit that doesnt have a weapon bonus.
the minmatar assault suit bonus is actually pretty beast. 100 round clip would let you drop 3 or even 4 armor tanked guys in one clip. submachine guns are beast against armor. |

The bonus is absolutely pointless in any competitive environment and doesnt help balance the difference/ roles of suits

I recognise the risk about breaking shields if regulator bonus is higher- but as a suit based on speed and shield it seems to me to make more sense to put a bonus there. You dont have to put the mod in the slot. But it makes you think about / use it
wouldnt regen would be for caldaris ? though suppose regs would be too? but at least a way to differenetiate |

Still looking for DEV response.
Since 1.7 i have tried the assault suit officer variant and its slow recharge time on the shields really does show.
The suits main tank is now gimped. I could get nearly 30 recharge rate, and now im lucky to get it over 25.
Couple that with the low resources available and it makes this suit very hard to fit.
I tried running a proto combat rifle (with full CPU reduction skills) and now i have to drop yet more tank to adequtely fit the suit. The points in my original post still stand, this suit does need an overhaul. |

Only thing I would change is buffing the base shield recharge rate, lowering depleted delay to 8 seconds to match the logi and amending the racial bonus to affect total clip size (after skill is applied) and include ammo capacity and a bit more CPU. Binding it to racial weapons would only kill any remaining versatility the suit has since it's a great choice for AV and sniping. Slight speed buff wouldn't hurt either, but I'm afraid it would make the scout redundant and trading a high slot for a low slot is just band aiding the real problem- lack if useful high slots.
I tried to put a level into Amarr Commando once, but got a server notification saying "Why?"

further thoughts are suits need to be completley reworked. With the view that a wide range of modules should be being used by players.
to the above poster 8 seconds delay is way too long
delay needs to be massively reduced across the board on all suits
min could have a bonus based on whichever the module is to reduce the delay. forgotten which.
These low levels is what is causing all the problems with module balancing - and the supposed TTK problem - why use shields when they aren't going to recharge before the next bullet. Might as well stack damage mods. Same goes for shield charge before the depleted delay. And shields in general need to charge faster.
They need to remove the armour buff they gave and give the bonus back to armour based suits only. This has only added to the damage mod stacking problem (see below).
They need to look at buffing armour reps for armour suits
would like to see an extra PG on the armour plate - as it may help stop shield suits stacking more armour than shield.
Unfortunately CCP wont do the following: I would like to see damage mods reduced to staking only one. But it is why, in my view, modules are out of whack. The ability to stack more than one is what causing people to complain about a low ttk.
The faster recharge and lack of stacking damage mods would naturally increase a supposed low TTK and create a wider variety of play styles
the above would give the minmitar a high shield speed suit - like it is supposed to be

All you need. Throw in a CPU/PG buff to incorporate the extra slot, and that's all you need.
With it, you can make this fit (with a PG buff)

Yup. Even the in game description says they hybrid tank
If you look at my earlier post, Mine hybrid tanks with emphasis on shields, yet still trying for decent dual regen (38 hp/s and 3 hp/s). In 10 seconds (after delay) I regen around 380 shields and 30 armor. That's 420 eHP regained in 10 seconds, which is more than half my total HP. I also regain 180 armor in a minute, which is more than enough, due to the fact that I should be going into my armor too terribly much.

A Cpu and Pg increase is needed because the whole Diversity thing is not possible, ATM I have lvl 5 pg and cpu but i Cant decently fit a Mk.0 suit compared to the Advanced, 350 cpu on Mk.0 suits and the pg id leave to CCP. Also CCP knew we wouldn't put armor reps Considering there are only 2 Low slots.. But only 1 hp Armor Rep for every Tier suit is to little, it should be an increase per Tier suit Basic being 1hp, Advanced 3hp and Mk.0 5hp. Also to add to the diversity of the suit an extra equipment slot should be givin to the advanced and Mk.0 suits, this wont make it Over Powered but it will ad fitting possibilities... |
