Not for fitting, not for the marketplace, those are fun to figure out yourself, and a respec at 5 million skill points would let them fix mistakes.
No, what we really need is a combat tutorial, teaching these players how to stand a chance and not go 0/17 every match against people not even using proto, but many times STD gear.
We need a tutorial to teach them fundamentals, stick together, attack objectives together, use scanners if you don't know where the enemy is or uplinks are, use and spawn on uplinks, beware of hot uplinks, lead off with grenades in firefights, gain the high ground at all costs if possible, use whatever means necessary to take out vehicles quickly. Take out enemy uplinks and capture CRUs.
What seems like common sense to vets is completely foreign to a HUGE chunk of our playerbase. If we could just teach a few fundamentals to our playerbase I have no doubt these same players wouldn't have as many problems and quit like they do from the learning curve.
Its so painfully obvious as you play dust which of your enemies have experience and which don't, you find every match these players that aren't able to aim whatsoever as they wander aimlessly outside the city. As I was using my BPO suit today to test its performance, I was just saddened every time I dispatched of the newbies that stood absolutely no chance against me, because of their poor knowledge of the game.
If i had the opportunity I could explain in less than 5 minutes, the knowledge needed for a newbie to compete in this game, but instead they have to take a couple months of getting torn apart to learn just how to not go negative. |

DildoMcnutz wrote:Definitely agree with a respec at 5 million sp, thats actually where i had mine and it was a HUGE help to my understanding of what goes into a good build and a good suit. This was the very first FPS multiplayer game i have ever played and i not only had to learn how to shoot but i also had to get my head around the skills/fittings part aswell, not that im new to the RPG side of things but every game of its ilk usually has its own learning curve. I honestly cannot say how integral that respec was to the growth of my character and ability in the game. Yeah, any respec helps new players VASTLY more than vets as vets already use almost maxed gear, whereas a new player uses mostly STD w/ some ADV and no core skills, but can respec into a proto suit & prof5 weapon w/ a complex module for 5.7 million SP, that could be a prof 5 imperial ScR, a gallente logi Gk.0, and 5 complex armor plates.... all for 5.7million SP, show me ANY player that has 5.7million SP an as effective fit as that. Other than vets w/ alts already doing that of course. |

If you don't like the idea of a mandatory tutorial I understand, but a simple, efficient 5 minute combat tutorial that at least would be readily available to new players would do FAR more than the pathetic mandatory academy we have now. |
