delete this asshat from the game
...All humor aside, this is bad. (I'm laughing at some of the fun posts in the thread, Xaviah, but your issue really is serious).
I know EVE has a substantial amount of deception and double-crossing by players, and it's permitted because it's relevant to the "New Eden psyche", where characters are profit-driven, and scheming and plotting often. If that is allowed in Dust through players being secretly contracted to sabotage or assassinate other merc players for deception or PROFIT, I would say okay, I will put up with it.
But what you're describing Xaviah is not a player getting into the EVE mindset, or acting out his character's profiteering career. It's just a video game player extracting pleasure by interfering with other players' gameplay time. No storyline purpose, no plan hatched to deceive and profit for his Dust character.... just like slashing the tires on a CCP staffer's car--it's interfering with CCP's product.
There should be a separate arrangement (sad to have to say) for persons (we're not EVE mercs, we're PERSONS).... a separate arrangement for persons who set up an account in CCP's game, and for whatever reason deliberately disrupt the environment CCP is creating for its users.
Shouldn't matter if "DashingFlamer 3" had some kind of argument with you, has a personal gripe, or just felt like dumping on something for a week---if he chose to disrupt the other users' account in the devs' game, then the PERSON who plays DashingFlamer 3 must get a warning of termination OR just have his his account terminated. (Hey, those are the rules somewhere that we all "agreed to" when signing up in their game, so...)
Xaviah, if you're serious about this (again, sad to have to say), send a private communication to CCP about it...they can track the incident... He may have to be the first punishable example that we're actually not "merc characters"--we're people who are sometime screwing around in someone's effort to run a business--and we need to keep REAL.
If anyone who knows diplomatic words wants to start a thread requesting CCP to instruct us how to address this (...you know this is going to happen more, now that we have Friendly Fire ON), I'll post my support. Maybe if CCP just posts a formal warning, that will be enough to keep us real.
