What's the point of these even existing? These suits are 1:1 copies of their assault variants, but without the role bonus. They're even more expensive! It's a complete waste of SP, ISK, and a decent color palette that could be used elsewhere.
I've talked to a few people who thought the skill was required to get both bonus' on the assault suit. The poor mercs didn't read the fine print!  |

You save 1.2 mil SP compared to a real assault suit. I have a gallente variant cause i didnt wanted to spec assault due to its useless bonus to me. And Cause i have a gallente logi so i had to get it to lvl3 anyway.

After the Uprising respec, the whole racial bonus thing was new and I didn't really understand why they were split up, the significance of the bonuses, or notice the price difference.
I just knew that my character was Gallente and I didn't want to be a Logi.
Then I found out that armor was garbage and the seed of regret was planted.
Now, I'm working on 4 Racial suits and trying not to get a 5th.

There's literally no point in specing into them unless that's all you're going to do. They're more expensive, lack the bonuses, and are generally uglier. It is much more worth saving the SP to go with the full Assault than the basic frame (and lets be honest, that's what the basic frame is; a unbonused assault). I have Minmatar Medium Basic and Minmatar Light Basic specced to Level 5, and now it's a waste because I'm specing into assault and scout respectively.
To be honest, it's the only reason I want a skill respec - that's how bad it is
