Hey all, I'm a player who has been playing on and off since the closed beta. Having come back recently, I find myself getting frustrated that every time I start a match I find myself getting stomped by more experienced players with better gear. I'm not complaining about this. I'm just looking for some feedback from the community on what I can do or what roles I can serve that will help me to become better at the game without the frustration that going 4-15 in a match gives me. I love the idea that Dust presents, and I really want to play, but I am not having any fun getting stomped every time I log in. My exasperation is driving me from the game. So, my question is:
What can I do differently to make my experience less frustrating in a way that would make me better at the game?
Sorry if it seems that I am complaining, because I really just want to play this game and have fun with it. I'm an Eve player, and so I'm not new to a tough learning curve, but I am frustrated with the fact that I feel no reward (fun, experience, etc.) for playing as I am playing. |

Thanks for the time to reply, I will try being a little bit more careful than I have been. Lately I've been experimenting more with different roles (my oldest char is a logibro) because I don't think I've found what I'm good at but I think I will try to squad up more and use numerical advantage. Thanks! |

I spent SP without giving too much thought to where it was going, resulting in poor skill choices. I can use some decent suits and weapons, but my skills as an FPS player are far behind where most other players I have encountered are. For instance, my aiming skills are terrible, and I can't seem to hit anything. Some combination of the two has left me in a tough place.

Thanks for all the help everybody, I really appreciate all the input. Sticking with a more experienced squad seems to be the overwhelming majority of what I'm getting, so I will try my best to fill a hole in a more experienced group of players. Thanks a lot everyone, I think I will give it another go. |
