Ironically, the New Eden universe could be considered commentary on society. It's not surprising that people find pleasure in giving someone grief. It happens all the time in the real world. Just clench your fist and fight back |

You know some people like to team kill, some people like to scam, spy and steal. That is the beauty of this game it allows people to make a choice besides the good guy. That is how people have fun, they just want to watch the world burn. See, that is just the thing though, how often does someone choose to have honor and portray the"good guy"? 9/10 people choose to be douchebags and hang out with other douchebags and tools who only know how to be sycophants. When being a backstabbing douche is celebrated, why choose to aspire to anything different?
ROFL but that's like the real world!! People respond with douchebaggery long before they will even consider the opposite.
It takes alot to be a decent person who doesn't to resort to ignorant ways that is so embedded within our society |

It takes alot to be a decent person who doesn't to resort to ignorant ways that is so embedded within our society If games are allegedly a form of "escapism" and my description could be declared "like the real world", why then isn't New Eden full of Ghandis and Mother Teresa's?
Because like the real world, Ghandis and Mother Teresa's can't be heard over the gunfire and explosions lol!
But seriously...
We can also say that those two are possible within each race. I'm pretty sure there's a Mother Teresa in Amarr, from their perspective as much as there is a Ghandi in Gallente (yuck). Yet, I won't view that Gallente Ghandi as such. Because he is my enemy and I'm his. I don't see a Ghandi, I see a tyrant.
We are mercenaries, we just see battles and death. But there are citizens who don't see what we see, vice versa.
