there are too many boosters!
Dust should just make 1 subscription cost to get all the benefits at a reasonable price and scrap boosters full stop. 3 lots of boosters adds up to too much money - NA players get to play a lot cheaper than EU players but here is the UK and US numbers for you
200k +25K aurum costs me over $135vs $99.99 boosters cost 28k aurum for a month
current costs to run full boosters
28k x's 2 = 56k aurum 56/225 x's 100 = 24.8% UK cost = $33.6 per month US cost = $24.8 per month
assuming LP boosters cost the same next months full booster cost.
28k x's 3 = 84k arum 84/225 x's 100 = 37.3% UK cost = $50.35 US cost = $37.33
putting things into perspective - I just logged into game.co.uk and looked how much FIFA 14 is and its -ú34.99 or $56
http://www.game.co.uk/en/fifa-14-includes-4-gold-fifa-ultimate-team-packs-218047?attributeName1=Shop By&pageSize=20&provenance=New&categoryIdentifier=10225&attributeValue1=63
So to play dust514 after the patch for a month, bearing in mind dust is far from complete will cost me just under $6 less than the full purchase price of fifa 14
my suggestion would be that for the full Dust514 booster package CCP charge.
EU $30 per month US $25 per month
that's more than most MMO's and still they will receive the price of a new game every 2 months from paying players.

Ya know, you don't have to buy boosters constantly and you certainly don't have to buy all 3 types. If you think it's too expensive, stop spending so much - it's not like you'll suddenly find it so much more difficult to play; in fact you'll find no difference in how the game plays.

Op, you're right we are paying to develop the game, devs need to eat right?I don't think the community as a whole wants to get rid of boosters, I for one wouldn't mind another active booster. I haven't paid for boosters though since full release of Uprising. I can't afford to. Between my Eve accounts, and upgrading hardware for both the PS3 and the computer my entertainment budget is spent. If you notice a difference in SP gain without the booster, that is the normal rate, and this is a pay to win game (skill points make you better). Hey devs, can I buy Aurum for PLEX (Concorde Pilot's License Extextion)?

I think EVE subscriptions are about $15 per month...I would be ok with that for Dust but not a dime more.
Lots of advantages for subscription based gaming BUT this is billed entirely as a Free To Play game. I can see this changing with the eventual port to PS4 in a year or so but definetly not now. |

Believe it or not, there are players out there who think $5/month is too expensive.

The F2P model is important for this game. Many people signed up early and haven't logged in since. They are acruing passive SP and are much more likely to come back and try DUST again when it's "out of beta." The system encourages long-term loyalty and makes it easy for those who have stepped away from the game to be lured back to spend their banked up SP. Boosters are optional, not too overpowered and 100% necessary to keep development moving forward. There is a small playerbase, so each player needs to pay more than a game with a huge player base. Think of it as a premium for having a huge advantage over everyone else when DUST starts to reach its potential and players start flooding in.

Considering that EVE is FAR FAR better than this, AND they get the chance to earn PLEX. Boosters are overpriced but what can you do if you want to use them !

It's not pay to win because boosters don't give you something a free player will never be able to access. So what if you get ten days worth of SP on seven and a half. I'll be able to use the same gear you have access to. It's not like you get weapons, armor, ammo, and other gear that's twice as good as anything a free player can get.
You want to see pay to win, play Dark Orbit, Pirate Galaxy, even BSG Online. There are hundreds of games out there with a true Pay to Win structure. Dust isn't one of them.
The forge gun splash radius nerf has not diminished my ability to kill infantry with it. Thank you.

So who's holding a weapon on you and forcing you to spend real money on the game? If you don't like the price, don't buy it. Boosters and aurum gear are not necessary. They're there so impatient people with money to burn can buy a time advantage. Boosters = faster SP gains. Aurum gear = lower skill requirements on higher tier gear. I understand the concept of something that any player could get, but if I were to have played right from the beginning with boosters I would have double the Max SP of a player without boosters ever. That sir is something that a player is unable to achieve without paying.

I honestly think they should milk PlayStation Home FAR FAR more than they have, which is zilch. The amount of stuff people buy on that Free to Play platform is mind-boggling. CCP, forget about the fallout from the Monocle Gate, get your people on selling EVE and Dust suits and clothing there.
You'll thank me.

Tell me about it. That Event Horizon lounge needs some more people and I don't mind paying for DUST vanity items on PSHome.
