Shields are UP now compared to armor. Give us what was promised. Five second shield delay, eight second depleted delay. And while you're at it, give us our CPU back. Removing the racial bonus and replacing it with something worthless was enough, particularly with aim assist and hit detection negating the speed advantage shields have over armor.
CCP lied.

How about you nerf the other logis instead of buffing Cal Logi back to OPness?
Comapred to an Assault it's still better >_>
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

Aim assist doesn't negate the speed advantage. The only thing it negates is strafing, but armor is hit by it too.
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

How about you recognize that CCP still hasn't fixed an error they made, five months after the fact?
You realize that the difference between a full brick tanked (5x Extenders, all plates, no EQ, Duvolle, Core Locus) pre-nerf, and post-nerf, is only 55 HP of armor?
Pre-nerf, most proto Cal Logis still had to use a CPU extender to fit good equipment. If you didn't run extender and downgraded to basic plates, you'd have a total of 85 CPU and 27 PG leftover for your equipment - not much room for advanced/proto.
All the CPU nerf did was to reduce the Advanced Cal Logi suit to a 3:1:3 layout, as one low must be devoted to CPU for the suit to be viable (as an equipment logi). |

I'm not complaining that the delay is too long. I just want what was promised to us. Everyone else, including CCP, seems to have swept this under the rug. CCP should either release an official statement that the Cal Logi delays are supposed to be 6/8, or fix it. But right now, Cal is the only race whose logi delays are longer than its assault counterpart. Doesn't make sense if Caldari are supposed to be shield experts.
Count the number of Cal Logi proto suits that still have <112 HP of armor, then tell me how useful the regulator bonus is.

*complains about long shield delay* *complains that bonus to shield delay modules is useless* because it is. why use a module that gives you such shite reduced time for you recharge to start, when it hardly makes a difference for a few reasons- 1. the bonus itself isnt much, at best w/ a complex on callogi you're saving a couple seconds, 8 to 6 is hardly noticeable. 2. shields themselves are UP from low hp, an AR or worse, a ScR blinks at you, you're dead. the recharge doesn't matter if you die instantly, look at the Mk.0 scouts insane regen yet being the worst suit in the game, worse even than commandos now. 3. if you can get a chance to recharge now, its 90% of the time because you're safe for the moment(just killed someone, retreated far, etc.) this ends up making the 2 extra seconds w/out a regulator completely irrevelant; if you can avoid battle for 6 seconds, you're probably able to avoid it for 8 seconds.
All this mediocrity while you sacrifice a low slot as you could be getting a complex armor plate for less CPU and more PG, as shield suits use too much CPU anyways, so saving it and using plates lets you equip more as well.
THIS IS WHY NO ONE USES THEM. They are complete garbage, and nerfing the shield delay on shields suits won't change that fact. It won't make us use them, it just further cements us using damage mods and armor on shield suits to avoid garbage shields as much as possible. |
