I have lurked on the forums for a while and haven't posted anything yet, I love to play as a logi but and afraid to put anymore points into for fear of how they are going to change it. I currently have around 1.6 mil sp. I'd just like to share some ideas as a new player and would like some feedback to hopefully get this noticed by the devs.
1. It would be really great if we could have a zone where you only had the option to play with one of your standard 4 suits. Maybe make the SP half of normal. Where people could learn tactics over gear. I know it would be a place where proto stomped isn't going to turn off a new player and players that have reached their sp limit for the week could farm isk.
2. Please make winning mean something in this game, even if it's only you get 5 sp point per wp if you win and 4 sp points per wp if you lose. It might make people start trying to play rather than sit back and wait for the match to end after getting redlined. I really feel like I am 1 of 5 people really trying. In the last 20 matches, I have been in the top 8 of 16 people as a standard BPO Medic with only 1.6 sp.
3. I love logi, I use it to support my team, please don't mess it up, sure some people abuse it, but fix the invisible glitch or the sniper glitch first. A. Make the other suits more viable, I personally feel that the basic should have a light and sidearm, logi's have no sidearm and assault should have 2 light (of course being able to equip a sidearm in a light position if desired). As well, I think assault should be able to carry 2 different grenades.
4. Take a break from messing with the mechanics for a while and get us some more maps, marketplace items, and militia gear. I should be able to try out all weapons as militia gear before I spend my SP points, really, they could be at a level of suck, but don't make me pay to try something out. A. I have no problem with not being able to respec my skills. but I want to know what I am getting into. I have to invest almost 600K to THEN find out that an assault rifle does ultimately get a scope option? What about a scrambler rifle that does full auto? These should also be militia items that I can try out to see if I will like using them before I blow all my points and decide I don't like them.
5. Personally, I didn't know about this game 8 months ago, and feel like, sure I have to catch up, but I can do that. However, something I will never be able to do is get BLUEPRINT items. Either strip them and give people their real money back or bring them back, its completely unfair advantage I will never be able to match.
6. Speaking of catching up, do away with weekly SP cap until someone hits 5 mil SP, my job is hard enough getting proto stomped every 30 secs, its enough that I don't even want to play solo (if it wasn't for my co-worker playing with me I would have left weeks ago). In fact give people under 5mil SP bonus SP just for playing through a match, your point system is almost broken; my friend trying to play a sniper, he watches my back, mics positions, destroys uplinks and is rewarded with 100 wp. at the end of match. He can NOW ALMOST kill something that he finally has a proto sniper rifle. but it was such a bloodbath to get there he almost quit.
That's my points, I probably forgot some, Thanks for reading. Let me know what you think. The game is probably completely different for people near 30 mil SP, but it's been a fracking killing fields for me and my friend.

I have almost all core skills at 2, or unlocked, working on hacking now. I have 3 in medium basic min suit and 3 in assualt rifles. Guess I will try to max out most core skills before I put any more into suits or weapons since I have been using only the 4 basic blueprints

assault suits dont have 2 light weapons buddy, and if you want a side arm at STD level, go into amarr logi...
I perfer the the min logi suit and am totally fine with running with nades and 1 light weapon, (I mostly have my repair or scanner out anyways). I was stating ealier that I thought assault suits might be more interesting for most players if they could have 2 light weapons, sniper and assualt, shotgun and scambler, whatever. I think though that it would make better sense to buff the assualt then keep talking about taking away from the logi. (either weapons or slots) Because in the case of only giving them a sidearm instead of a light slot. We are playing a FPS after all, I get seperated from my group, I am the last one standing with no one to revive, I am helping watch my tanks back.
EDIT. I reread your post and realize you meant don't spec into other weapons cause I will only need the AR. I picked the AR cause 2 of the 4 free suits could benfit from the SP. I got it to lvl 3 for the despersion. Don't know if that will be my final Light weapon though, I want to check out these Combat Rifles in 1.7

That's amazing..... like drug's get them hooked to the Skill system and leveling..... and would help for corporations to expand and get competitive quicker.... Would have to really explain the easy ride stops at a set number though.
Thanks, its not a new idea from what I've read in the forums. But yea. WP are broken IMO in a lot of ways. Getting assists from scanning kills would be nice. Standing within a captured point for a period of time and getting defender points WITHOUT kills might keep people from running point to point and allow a defender to make some points. Getting team spawns from a recently capped clone tank (say first 20 secs @ 10 a team spawn) might make people run with something other than scanners and go for capping in a lot of cases something more important than the actual point. Anyways, I am still new, I will get on headset with a squad hopefully and learn some tricks.

A simple way of boosting WP is uplinks. If you are good at finding spawn locations, that help your team, then you can really rack up so WP.
A couple of well placed uplinks can even change the direction of the battle.
Also watch some of the vids on YouTube eg CEOPyrex as you can learn a fair bit from them. Agreed. But pleeeeeeeeeeese don't spam those uplinks. Look for an intelligent place to put them that is NOT up on some dumb roof or out of the way but still in cover. With scanners as popular as they are reds WILL find the uplink. So it might as well be in a good spot. Plus, if you put one on a roof top, all the blue dots on your team will bust out marshmallows and just camp there.
I used uplink all the time in my first toon, I deleted him cause I realized my name was more than a bit gay. I am finally back to where he was. I used to use uplinks all the time for points and read up not to throw them into a corner because you come out of them in the same direction you tossed them. I haven't really done uplink farming this round because a. I play the free medic until I really commit to a suit and gear and b. feels like the nanite injector is way more useful than I ever knew as long as you use it when its safe and get that 200K fit back on his feet for free. (I am nice like that). But also I get more cpu/power to play with as well.

Frankly, if I hadn't been recruited by a corp I may very well have dropped the game after a month. Also a new DUST player here, but experienced Eve pilot. While I totally get mic on Eve, I'm waiting to be convinced of its necessity on DUST. Waiting and hoping, for the record. The last two nights were the first times I was with others with mics, and it was completely useless. Most of those were in public matches I went into as a free agent, so that might have something to do with it. However, even in the squad I got asked to join it was just gab gab gab. Not a single bit of tactics, orders, etc. If there was, I couldn't segregate it out from the babble. Before the fight was over I just dropped squad so I could have clearer, more relevant audio.
Since this post I have created my own squad, set it to Noobs with Mics and set to Public, my friend and 4 others joined in and we went on to win 5/7 games. It does make a HUGE difference, I am learning about how my COPRS squads come up in squad finder at the top now and it has really helped the game with me. I learned how to use orbitals as well, now THAT is fun.

You sir shush and keep playing you haven't played the game long enough to voice an opinion you haven't played through the bs of overpowering weapons or suits
I don't think scouts and heavies would disappear if you could run an assualt with 2 light weapons, only a heavy can run with a heavy weapon that wouldn't change. and most people run light suits for the speed and sneaky nature that even a logi suit can't get down too.
