No it doesn't, other than perhaps for a role playing perspective. And speaking of which, shouldn't you start with a slight bonus in favor of the race you are fighting for if you are the same race? I mean, shouldn't a Min gain LP faster fighting for the Min, than if he were to fight for Amarr? Who cares what some sniper has to say

I betrayed the Amarr, I want to have a gal pic here and the avatar on the character screen, more specifically it would be cool if the character is another role other than med frame. Example: You play as Amarr heavy and in the character selection you have the pic of a bsc, adv, or proto heavy.

Because I was a new player to the EVE universe and was told repeatedly in closed beta that "race doesn't matter" Now it does matter, therefore I would like a one time race/faction change.
