Commando: specially trained units used for surprise, hit & run tactics
I have already suggested commandos move down a "dress" size to be relevant, and honestly, more fun. After playing with the black eagle suits, I couldn't help but think, "This is how commandos should feel". I had the speed and "tools" to deal with enemy combatants, but was vulnerable and relied heavily on team mates. The lack of equipment meant no scanner and no hives. Which limited my ability to lone wolf, which is a good trade off for weapon versatility and SPEED. Commandos can't tank like sentinels, which they shouldn't, but they are only marginally faster. |

I think that's a nice opinion. I agree with that, after i played the commando in comparison to the Black Eagle. Had waay more fun with the black eagle and better stats, with the short ttk in mind

Leave my Commando alone, yo. They can surprisingly take quite a few hits. I've been doing absurd things with them, like using Plasma Cannon, Shotgun, and Nanites (or Nanohives) and it's been just a joyous ride for me. The reaction of people when a Commando is picking up people... goddamn priceless. Basically, the Commando is the "in between" of a heavy and a medium, which is the reasoning for their stats. Also keep in mind that these are Amarrian, who are infamous about having a lack of slots for health and whatnot boosted.
I imagine the Minmitar Commando being faster, the Gallente's Commando having an extra low, and Caldari having an extra high (which will be really problematic in proper hands).
As enjoyable as the Black Eagle is, it's a one trick pony. It has no application outside of an extremely few situations. I could run a scout with AR and get better results, or a scout with shotgun and potentially better results. I'm not hating on the Black Eagle- I personally like it.

They are usless. Slower than a logi with about the same overall HP, but with less slots. I guess they could be cool anti- armor? You could get 4 shots off quickly before reloading. |

I think they just cost a little too much. If the price was on par with the current sentinel prices im sure you'd see more commando's running around. |

Lol, no no. I should preface my statements with any changes would come stat tweaking. A six hundred base hp medium suit would be the definition of over powered. |

I play commando a lot. Its simplicity is actualy helping focus on how to use, know my weapons without crutches. I use it for almost every role.... But i love av roles. I use eveything but plasma cannon with it. I refuse to spec it, i really hate plasma snipers...

I like the commando we have, for messing around with. Last night, I had a very good game [by my standards] using a recruit AR, a mlt Shotgun and a repair tool on the basic commando suit. Very fun, even if gimped and in need of tweaking [lots of it].
I also like the Black eagle. But... There is absolutely no reason why there can't be two "commandos." Black eagle-esque commandos and our current commandos can co-exist. Of course, some new class names and descriptions might be in order. |

I don't think CCP wants to have two of the same class across two frames. The commando is great for laughs, but that's about it. |

They could do with more lows and far better shield stats. They have half the shield regen of a Sentinel, and I cannot imagine a reason for that. It'd also be nice to trade off their low speed for massive stamina. CCP seems to have been going for Rambo roleplay with this specialisation & I think high stamina & high melee fits the bill perfectly.
Oh and a specialisation bonus that isn't a complete joke would be nice too.

I too would like to know what the 10 shield rep is about, lol. More stamina doesn't help capitalize the high melee damage. Sprint speed on the other hand would allow commandos strike quickly, but they would have to have low stamina/movement instead. Commandos should be the poster child for run & gun, no equipment just destruction. |

I still believe that certain roles shouldn't be limited to one frame size. I love playing defensively in my heavy commando suit, but would also like to have a more mobile sentinel. Not a "delete heavy Commandos and create a light Commando" but rather "Add a light Commando."

Think outside the box. Each one can be made unique, and given a niche to fill without treading on each others toes. Which is to say, they would not be the same class across two frames. |

I can see commando's hitting but not running away. They dont seem fast enough to make it out. The commando name is just wrong as the suit is played. It simply carries another light weapon slot to make it more versatile. currently their fine.

I live out of the box, lol. What makes the commando the commando (in dust) is two light weapons. Being two different sizes would dictate different slot load out, but that make them different in their role. Unless they got more equipment slots across sizes. |
