Now this isn't a whinge about the patch notes so dont worry! I am in favour of the various nerfs, including the shield one. Variety is the spice of life!
My issue comes from the seemingly forgotten Minmatar assault suit. Currently I believe it has the lowest possible effective HP pool( I wonder why no one is using it ) I understand its a fast suit (if you dont armour tank it, then armour is sub 200), I understand it has a OK Shield rechange rate. But that is were the benefits end as far as i can see. It has no lower profile to 'dissapear' and get those shields back for example.
So now the shield nerf is impending, Im left wondering what the hell is going to happen to the Mk.0? I mean people will have to stack shield extenders to make up for the massive lack of HP. So it seems CCP is nerfing an already underpowered suit?
I mean prove me wrong by all means, post some fits that you would find competitve. But with the limited CPU/PG, limited lows, a nerf to an already mediocre shield recharge and an all but useless skill bonus.. I am left a little bit wanting.
And the basic Medium frame proto? Without any extra recharge rate that suit is going to be next to useless (more so than it already is). |

Ryme Intrinseca wrote:It's comparable to the assault ck.0. Mk.0 has slightly more CPU and 1/hp sec armour regen, while ck.0 has slightly lower (but still high) CPU demands and fast shield regen, so overall they are about even. I think the main issue with both suits is a lack of CPU/PG given how many highs they have to fill.
Yes, but you also gain a passive shield extender bonus anyway on the ck.0. Whereas the Minmatar has speed that is easily countered by the new AA. So where as you can hit 400-500 Shields Easily on a ck.0, a Minmatar assault simply wont fit every thing unless your using a CPU/PG upgrade which is 50% of your low slots, even with max skills, and still rolls in at 400hp with 5 shield extenders and lack luster recharge.
Now if you were to armour tank it then you lose speed, which is pretty conter intuitive(Mk.0 fastest suit blah de blah). Unless your using basic equipment and a ferro plate. I for one think we should be able to at least fit a 1 proto peice of equipment on a proto suit without sacrificing tank.
You can tank a Caldari with some armour which helps, so you can fit CPU/PG mod whilst still maintaining another two slots for tank. |

Thor Odinson42 wrote:It's easy to see why so many people loathe Logi suits. The assault suits are just terrible overall and have unreal fitting limitations.
They should really take some high level players and try to help them understand what is wrong with these suits. From everything I read from the Devs that play the game, they all spec into all sorts of crap and haven't specialized in anything. I'm not sure they are even aware of the issues aside from the QQing on the forums.
The Minmatar scout and assault suits are easily the worst suits in the game.
I completely agree, they would never of nerfed shields if people actively moaned on the forums about said Minmatar suits.
The Mk.0 is basically a glorified scout suit with about an extra 200HP(at a push), and no stealth. Basically they need a decent testing team to be able to play the game with every suit. Because directly nerfing the Mk.0 with no hotfix is an issue. It was already bad... but now...
I mean CCP has graphs, lots of graphs.. how can they not see that the suit is not being used in PC. It needs adressing. |

Maybe you can do 1 complex sidearm, 1 enhanced, 3 shield extenders, 1 basic armour plate and a enhanced shield regulator.
Run those with a proto assault smg and a std smg. Of couse you can swap the basic plate for a 2nd regulator.
Have have prof 2 in the SMG and run a Ishokone and toxin on one fit, BUT without dampening your too easy to see coming, irregardless of speed.
Its a very niche class, for compound heavy maps. Get caught mid-range then bye bye suit. |

And I was running a duvolle prof 5 with 2 damage mods on a 750 armor tanked suit with aim assist...and I'm not a terrible shot, I competed at the highest lvls of competition before AA was strengthened.
Strafe speed in the right mans hands > and extra 40% ehp.
Whilst i agree with you, Ive seen Reg in action a fair few times. Its the now impending nerf that will take the suit from being a niche suit, to underpowered. Also when Reg was regualry running PC, SR were not as prolific (due to AA and a range buff).
At the end of the day were talking about taking the main tank of the suit that is already underused, due to a low EHP and nerfing it again. It simply needs an over haul.
Plus a full prof SR, will basically two shot this suit. I dont care what anyone says, no proto suit should be able to get dropped in 2 shots. |
