So, why can't dust touch EvE without getting its cooties all over it.
simple, money. the Icelandic krona (ISK) to be exact.
any basic EvE pilot can make mmh call it 25 million isk an hour. with multiple toons it is pretty easy to get 100+ million isk an hour on a good day in null sec. where as a dust bunny makes roughly 1 million isk an hour (200k x 15min per match). this wealth disparity isn't necessarily bad. after all it wouldn't make much sense to have HAVs costing the same amount as battleships(tanks are battleship equivalents in eve, this is why they had black ops and marauder variants).
many of you are thinking great, great they make more money than us whoop dee doo, why does this stop CCP from integrating us with eve again? well, a lot actually nothing you can have, can hold any value to an eve pilot whatsoever. why? because if it is valuable they will want it and have no means of buying it. there is no eve dust isk transfer so in order to "purchase" anything valuable from dust, you need a pocket dust corp.
lets say, null corp A owns the districts in the systems it rents, they are a small indie corp of about 50 active players. so these few players don't have a pocket dust corp and dust integration is a fairly new Idea so the alliance they are renting from doesn't either. a hostile alliance attacks them, no problem, they are a fairly wealthy corporation, I mean really what do ringers go for these days 10 mill a pop? pocket change to a corp that can pull 700 mill an hour on a bad day. so corp A has hired the best mercs around because they can pay quantities of isk that give dust bunnies wet dreams. as a result the price of mercenarys skyrockets and floods dust markets with isk that has no earthly right to be there. proto-stomping happens endlessly and drives new players away while older players simply leave out of boredom or for new games, dust dies a slow, slow death.
okay, that ended badly. lets try again, same scenario. without a pocket dust corp and no eve dust isk transfer the renter corp loses the districts on it's planets and slow so do everyone else in the allience because they have no way to fight an enemy they can't touch. dust player base stays small but the mega corporations expand in pc to ludicrous sizes. eve capsuleers unable to stand in the way of the dust bunny expansion lose all the districts on their planets. dust corps rake in obscene amounts of isk from clone sales flooding the market with isk. you see where this is going...
nobody wanted molden heath, it was no good for FW and it was in low sec which is far to unstable for anything to happen in space except pvp. the rats aren't big enough to be worth the risk and the rocks aren't valuable enough to mine, so all that happens is pvp. all the district held there are worth nothing to capsuleers because only a brave few live in low sec full time. that is why you(we) can have it
I have toon living in both high sec and null. the null sec toon is my indie toon. none of my toons are with SVER, PD, or associated corps.

If you can fit medium/large/XL turrets, you can fit small turrets. even my orca? no... not your orca. it has no hard points. however all titans, dreads, can. also if you're looking for dumb stuff to use for OB support, the Etana is a good choice.
