Yeah, that's it. No arguments, no "omg why not already", no assignment of guilt, no "you should have done xyz". I just want to let you know that some of my friends don't own a PS3 but a PS4, and that they desperately want to play Dust.
Good Day.

Good Day. Does not compute. Why would players want to play Dust 514 when they have all of those next gen goodies? I mean, isn't that what everyone's been on about for the whole year? Anyways >.>...CCP should focus on getting a few more things in before they consider PS4, imo. We need a Player market before then and then some.
I'm talking about my friends, no one ever visit this forums and cry about the end of Dust514 by the release of the PS4 or other FPS. They never owned a PS3. Some have seen Dust (I showed them) and now they want to have it. They are not going to buy a PS3 even if they are extremely good game out there.
It's very simple. You could call them the new player marked. What they did is making a account via browser and I showed them the characters they now own. (to teas them a little ;))

Michael Arck wrote:So why can't they save up money to get a PS3? I got a 250 gig for 150 bucks.
Funny how people raved about the PS4 only to talk about playing old gen stuff (no backwards compatible? waaaaaaaah). For all that they could have waited.
I would be surprised if it releases sooner but I don't think Dust 514 will be on the PS4 by next year....
Well some of them don't want to spend money on "old stuff". The most of this familiar to me are PC gamers without console experience. They no longer will invest a ridiculous amount of money in gearing up the PCs and some are sick and tired of all this Steam/origin/Ubisoft and so on lobbyists. Where you have DRM, Shop-Launcher spying on your PC and so on.
Some (or even the most of them) where expecting to play PS3 games on a PS4. Well, I'm not going to say PC gamer a dumb, I (for example) will always own more then one system, but they haven't hat a console since SNES (still my favorite btw).

Good Day. Gaikai operations are started in mid 2014 (stream games to any console). CCP have had discussions with Gaikai. I believe CCP is very good because of their openness to technical innovations (like Gaikai). We will probably see dust 514 streamed in 720p when the game is working all right and balance has been achieved.
To be honest, I think that the lag will be beyond all bearing. And It looks like Gaikai is not coming to Europe before 2015.

Update 10.01.2014
A friendly reminder, they are still crying. A little less since BF4 become some how playable, but still crying for Dust.
PS: Meanwhile in the real live outside off CCP little world, Sony sold 4,2 Million PS4s (CES News). Sony is very Sory that the PS4 is still sold out and that they can't feed the demand. Don't forget, this console is still to launch in Japan (huge marked).

Kharga Lum wrote:I doubt it'll happen. Would Sony even allow cross platform connection between PS3 and PS4? PS4 does not run PS3 games, nothing about these machines is compatible.
I have absolutely no idea how it looks from the server side. But I'm working as a server admin for my living, and just from my experience I can tell you that NOTHING is impossible. The server only receive information (for example position coordinates) and all he does is calculation the information (not the other stuff like graphics) and sending them back. How this new Information is going to be implement is no longer the servers business.

Denn Maell wrote:With all the talk of the way PSN is shaping up, I doubt the PS4 was excluded without reason. XBOX was turned down because of business-related issues involving server control (or so I've heard). With PSN plus going the same way as XBOX Live on so many issues .... Please call them. You don't need a PS Plus Account for free to play games. And if I'm not wrong you don't need PS Plus for online gaming when the servers are hostet from some one else but not Sony. Sony still have a way more open server politic then Microsoft.

The base data itself can create it's own communication rules and languages that are completely exclusive from the platform they are running on.... Hence cross platform processes are incredibly viable. Since all the data comes from downloads anyway, all the hard format data can just be ignored and cross communication is much easier to attain.
