I thing "volcano terraforming" may be referring to a dev tool that allows them to place volcano shaped mountains in future maps, or a feature that converts some of the existing mountains into volcanoes during the "volcano mood". Im just speculating though, don't take my word for it.

The moods are a combination of skyboxes and lighting. I'm hoping the volcano mood looks like the sky is on fire and adds a sort of odd darkness to the field.

Sounds reasonable enough. I'm looking forward to lava planets spewing magma into hapless victims, but for now, anything to add a bit of "awesome" will do.

I'm pretty sure it's the old maps, we just get a different mood. I'm hoping it's as prevalent as the snow is.

Having a few mountains change to volcanoes would be great, it would look fantastic and you just know the first day of their introduction everyone will go for a peek at the lava and a few fools will inevitably fall in causing general amusement among the spectators.
