If a majority of players in your corp decide to play mostly FW, there will be less incoming taxes overall to fund PC attacks and other corp events as ISK will no longer be given in FW battles. As such, taxes may need to be raised higher to compensate making members who prefer pubs look for a different corp with less taxes or more players to move to FW. Yes, I know there are some corps out there that have plenty of ISK inflow from sitting on multiple districts over time but the majority of corps in DUST will likely run into this issue ironically so shortly after corp taxes were implemented. Furthermore, trading out one currency for another is likely to make ISK that much harder to come by for the majority where those that have farmed ISK can continue to protostomp while those unable to farm in PC are spread thin that much further. In short, the rich get richer while the poor get poorer. |

Yes, I know many people are happy about the FW changes to bring more diversity to the game but I think many have not truly thought about what these changes mean as a whole. |

running basic gear, including restocking fees, I can make 1 million isk in about an hour by playing 6 ambush maps. If a 10% tax can't make you enough for a few clone packs a week then you either don't have the numbers in your corp to be in PC or start asking for donations to fund attacks.

FW matches will forever now be isk sinks for the game. That means, they will be a way for people to spend isk and only get stuff back. It is a way for them to perform a completely new kind of service that can convert their time in game into something tradeable (eventually).
Currently there are two ways isk comes into the game.
1) You are paid a base amount of isk for the time you are in a match.
2) PC corps get isk for the clones they kill/resell.
3) Isk leaves the game in the form of equipment that is destroyed and not converted into lootable isk. Isk spent on purchased equipment still exists in the game as that item itself.
The game pays you isk for stuff you destroy in pub and FW matches now, but that all came from #1 initially.
If #1 and #2 are a lot bigger than #3 then you have a lot of people who can make isk faster than they can lose it. Which leads to a kind of hubris, fearlessness, and foolishness in battle we call 'protostomping'. When people have nothing to lose, they spend isk foolishly.
FW introduces a (kind of) new way for isk to leave the game (losing LP Store goods) forcing players to be more discerning about spending. It also means that a chunk of time that they are now in the game will not generate isk like it did before. |
