So yesterday i find myself with just enough time to run a round or 2...so i am hoping for an action packed one.
Log on, que for a game solo
Drop into one, all fresh acadamy players my side and the oposing side a full team....and a couple of well known redline guys.
I guess, thats gonna be intresting and just go for it....in a 550 EHP protosuit.
After getting redline sniped 3 times and OHK grenaded to death 5 times and getting killed by actual guns 2 times, i am looking at a score of 24/10 against a full team in proto-gear. My next berry inline has 2/8 and the scores just get worse, much much worse below second place...
Though seeing i had a great time against this team that couldnt kill me fast enough before i was 4/6 the through their team and gave me a serious workout, while they were at all times running together, i send them the GG mail seeing not many teams put me in the double digit deaths these days.
Aaand nothing came back....are some of these people so close minded that a GG is only when they would have been able to completely oblitereate some new players? If it wasnt for me they would have most likely not taken a single death and r*ped the berries, now they had at least some action in their pubmatch...
Or am i the odd one out here ?

I dont get what the GG is all about these days
Half the time you get screwed due to no matchmaking and if your in a group you get the enemy academy players

Iv found in fw when u hit 40+ kills u start getting GGs :-)

I usually tell the random squads I join "gg" after the game and leave, win or lose. I stopped waiting for a response. I often get kicked from squads. I guess they don't like being outscored by some random Commando. Hell, I'd be pretty pissed if a standard Commando was outdoing my proto squad.
I miss the old FPS days, when "gg" was sincere from both sides.

I admit I hardly reply to GG e-mails because they seem so common nowadays and I also can't remember who the guy is that's sending it to me - I hardly look at my mailbox until closer to the end of the night, then there are 5 or 6 GG mails and maybe a tearmail... so hard for me to reply coherently.
I think you'll find some proto-stomping corps take it less seriously and do send a GG mail if they had a good fight... while others, which are the usual suspects, don't care if you killed 15-20 of their guys and are too busy nursing their bruised egos to admit any kind of deficiency on their part...

If I get shut down by a player or a team, I'll send a 'gg'. If I see a player work thier a** off I'll send it too. A lot of the time I have to explain what 'gg' stands for, sadly. And I almost never get one back or sent to me first except PC or top respected players who have been humbled over thier FPS career. |
