Ok, sorry if I'm not overly excited about the new FW, but where are the patch notes? I think its great we are adding something new to the 'experience', but what's the point if mechanics are still broke, lag is still there, heavies and scouts are still useless, etc...? It goes live in a week, specific changes to game mechanics please. |

Yea I agree, just going with the consensus on the forums. Specifically, is the HMG getting any tweaks? And are any racial passives changing on any suit? |

I'm wondering about that too. We're now 7 days away from the next update and we still don't have the patch notes.
CCP, thank you for hotfixing the knives. But please make sure they're at their full potential in 1.7.

Patch notes are like drugs for the Dust community.
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

Nice blog, with that said im disappointed, I want the whole 1.7 dev blog/1.7 patch notes. I woke up super excited just to get this blog, which btw ccp the rewards, im not happy about either, I dont want lower requirements. Who really cares about that in comparison to better weapons or items. I want more damage, more rof, more bullets. Come on ccp quit playing and give us some good stuff ffs.
And how about getting those patch notes like yesterday.
When your playing dust and your frustrated...if all else fails...turn off the ps3 works every time.

That's because of two things, first people seem to be forgetting that this one dev blog is not the only stuff being fixed/changed in 1.7. Here is a quick recap of stuff they've "promised" so far:
http://dust514.com/news/blog/2013/11/vehicles-in-uprising-1.7-1/
http://dust514.com/news/blog/2013/11/weapons-of-uprising-1.7/
http://dust514.com/news/blog/2013/12/strengthening-the-link-factional-warfare-in-uprising-1.7/
But wait! That's not all! They are still working on more so that they can get last minute other things into the patch, but because they cannot guarantee it with any level of certainty, they don't want to announce it and get your expectations up only to yank it away later if they cannot make the deadline for it.
I'm not claiming that there will be more. I'm only pointing out the three HUGE things above that are already in it and that they can always add in MORE to it. So they won't post the full list until they are sure of everything that will or will not be included into it.
In the meantime, I'm seriously happy with the shear amount of stuff they've already promised so far in the above posts. My only change would be to give everyone respecs as I would take all my mis-spent points in Assault Rifle and move them over to Combat Rifle. After all... MATARI PRIDE!

That's what I'm saying...new stuff is great, but let's fix what we already have instead of add more unbalanced turd guns to a game that doesn't have much balance in its current form. Patch notes FTW.

Seriously are you that dumb?
Without fully fleshing out the CORE of each faction's weapons, equipment, and vehicles you cannot balance anything! You are nothing but a silly troll!

The biggest difference I feel when playing the two is the dependence factor. Medium suit + AR feels like I can just go anywhere and be fine because you're simultaneously fast, deadly, and resilient. I've played AR since February and never felt like I was limited in what or where I could kill.
You don't usually have that luxury with heavy suits because although you have marginally increased EHP you still die so quickly through a combination of factors: large hitbox, slow movement speed especially while firing, higher-dps longer-ranged precise rifles, aim assist, range and dispersion limitations of heavy weaponry, etc. The balancing factor is that you're more effective in a team battle but struggle in lone engagements.
The only way you can really succeed is to have a good Logi at your back power-repping you so that you can take the onslaught. Hence, Heavies are just dependent on their teammates to support them, sorta like tanks, which makes them tricky to do well with at times when you don't the luxury of someone supporting you.
Let me play you the song of my people!

FAIL. Read more than one post before you decide to comment. The core of this game is unbalanced, why add anything new to already unbalanced and failed mechanics? Because get-gud scrubs like you want more broken toys instead of a playable game. |

Because nothing new is really 'new' it is simply a reduced cpu/pg variant of an already existing module or weapon. Sure the FW rewards may have an added racial perk to them, great, not that exciting. You don't need all racial variants to know that ARs and ScR need to be tweaked, shotguns and knives need a buff, TTK needs to be tweaked, speed and shield tank viability needs to be balanced vs. armor, PC lag is not down to uplinks spam, it is still laggy as all hell, there is too much of a divide between rookies and vets so battle academy needs love, the playermarket needs to open so we have a viable economy, all of these are what I want to see added, not necessarily an Amarr uplink variant. Yes its nice, yes I'll enjoy it cause its new, but I want to see what mechanics they are actually tweaking instead of a dev blog about FW changes. We are 6 days away from 1.7 and no notes is bad communication.
This is just like 1.5 when we were told 1.5 is the vehical make-over and they built it up to be huge? What did we really get? A new neocom and AR 514. So sorry if I hesitate to ejaculate over FW changes... |
