I just realised that a bunch of the Submachine Guns' descriptions say that they're semi-automatic...which obviously, they are most definitely not.
Just thought this should be pointed out. |

Wait - are you saying the description is noobish, or that my comment/thread is noobish? Your comment is ambiguous lol.
To back myself up just in case though, here's my understanding: semi-automatic - fires one round and loads next shot into chamber - trigger needs to be released and pressed again to shoot next round. Fully-automatic (what SMG's actually are) - as long as the trigger is pressed down, it will continue to fire and reload next shot to chamber - trigger doesn't need to be released to keep shooting.
Correct me if I'm wrong? |

It was sarcasm, OP. He was saying you were noobish, but he didn't mean it, hence why he also said "Like the time someone told me the HMG isn't bolt action, when it clearly is".
He's good enough (Judging by how much smart things I've seen him say) to know the HMG isn't bolt-action.
Also, the comment on the bolt-action HMG was not only a humorous joke (Insert Sheldon Laugh Here), but it was also to let everyone know he was being sarcastic without openly saying he was being sarcastic.
You're views on Semi-Automatic and Fully-Automatic are correct, except you wrote for Full-Auto: "Next shot is reloaded into the chamber". The correct term is "clip" instead of "shot" and I'm pretty sure it's not called a chamber, although I have no idea what it's actually called.

Either way, I'll confirm this tomorrow while I'm spending my daily half-hour I spend admiring my brilliant sums of ISK.

Ahh ok haha...I was suspecting something of the sort was up - didn't really clue into the bolt action bit...which come to think of it, should have been pretty obvious haha. Thanks for clearing that up!
Oh and I think rather than 'shot', it should be 'cartridge'. Clip is technically incorrect as well - I'm pretty sure clips are essentially magazines without the outer casing or spring loaded innards - like a piece that just holds onto the butt ends of the cartridges.
Anyway.. wordings aside, I pretty surprised they got semi-auto mixed with fully-auto...kind of a huge difference there lol. |
