Heres my vision on how team play could be increased.
Gamemode design: Creating gamemodes which require more than just "hacking" or killing. As an Idea, a revamp on domination that requires your team to be interacting with 2 points at the same time,( both the be fought for, and defended) in order to be able to hack the main null cannon. this means actuall team interaction, and planning, rather than just run in spam uplinks and ignore the blueberries.
The 1st screen you see when entering the battle. Maybe have team/squads loaded on there so you can join a squad whilst waiting to deploy on the initial 10 second spawn in.
Squad and team bonus', when operating with X amount of your team and an objective, wether defending or breaching, extra points, per person in pack added to WP gains. In otherwords, just being there and helping your team will benefit everyone elsewho is trying also.
Roles, in battle someone other than a logi needs to be a team player.
simple thing like how intel is gathered could open this game right up. A sniper should be a ble to "tag" a target, or a location that alerts his squad/team to a threat, or an incomming force. They have the best or should have the best view of the field and this needs to be a matchwinning strategy. Rather than countering snipers cuz they are annoying your team, they should be threats due to their ability to track your teams movements. A scout should be outfield intel, infiltrating enemy lines to be able to relay precise enemy locations and movement. IMO scanners should have been a scout only item. less range, but more of a threat. When you see "you have been scanned" it should not be due to the fact a logi is spinning in circles in the corner of a room near his squad. It should be the work of someone who has worked on being fast and unseen. A commando Should be scout like, but with more fire power when his attack hits. He should be able to hide, flank and breach with a nasty outcome, making his role critical in battle, if timed correct, he should be able to send an enemy advance into chaos, distrupting their force, alowing his front line assault, a better chance to stand their ground. Assault Should be strong in numbers, setting a strong perimeter for their heavy friends to operate from within. Heavy Point defense, whether anti infantry or anti vehicle, should be able to stand their ground, holding the close range battles as theirs. They should also be able to breach, using the assault to clear a line, so they can get in close and eliminate.
I would also like to see a counter-intelligance role added, a class specifically for, distrupting enemy comms(mics), radar and scan attempts, maybe even the ability to get the enemies electronics to act up, displaying wrong radar info, sabotaging equipment, to either hurt the enemy or benefit his team. The ability to hack an uplink so it kills enemies spawning in, or turns blue for use by his team.
As of right now, the game has turned into a standard shooter, not much variation, not much point behind a role, not much reason to play other than to brainlessly shoot. not much reason to play for your team.

The problem is that there is only pubs and PC. PC is too expensive for corps to jump into. We have to have corp contracts again. And I think further expansions into FW should have higher tier battles that are team deployable. It takes a LOT of work to get good at PC. There are probably less than a dozen good Field Commanders in Dust right now and that won't change until there is more teams fighting teams.
Adding new roles, or adding purpose to roles would also include WP bouns'. A newer player might not be able to stand up aswell in gunfights, but given the chance to either earn points from just trying to do a job for his team may help. If they knew that just operating around his team, or an objective would benefit his SP/ISK/WP gain aswell as the teams may be a good way to get them into the game. Chosing rather than hold down an objective with only 500ehp, he could be relaying intel to his team, or he could be sabotaging the enemies advance in his own little world. You have to feel for some of these blooooberries, not only getting a match loss, but only getting 50wp when he get to the leaderboards, because his ADV fit, with basic shields, basic AR was no match for mr 900ehp gallente logi, stood in a nest of triage hives, non stop scans, with a duvolle and core locus nades for those who do try him. Creating a war point reward system that had solo rewards, aswell as squad rewards might also help. say 1000WP gets you an ammo drop, your team would be happy to see it, you get WP for their use of it. Or maybe you could earn a solo artillery strike at X amount of points.
I also think that there needs to be a squad and a team limit on equipment, disrupting the spam, and giving people a chance to get that uplink down that matters. rather than be the guy who spams 20 uplinks, 20 nano hives, then switching to assaultlogi. Equipment distibution should be a non stop job. Maybe timers on uplinks, giving your team small windows to use one when its there.
The game currently scares new players into not trying, all they see is death, minimal WP then named and shamed at the end of the match for not having 20+ million SP. All the time I join matches where the other side has protostomped the enemy into the redline, mass spammed the map with uplinks to an almost ireversable point. This removes all want to try for your team, this creates a protect my KDR and get what I can from this point mentality, I imagine it also stops newer players from sticking to dust514, when other games offer a much faster and less embaressing game for them to play.
TL:DR... The game needs to allow players whether solo or squaded to feel like they can still help the battle. And needs to reward efforts.
