Man, are you guys ever eager today! I had a response before I had reserved 4 posts the first time I tried to put this up, and had to start over.
Yes you may post now. I hope you enjoy the guide and find it useful, now that I have had a chance to post it.

CaveCav wrote:Good guide as always! I'll wait for it to be complete before commenting any more The guide is complete for now. Some of the squad tactics I had already included in another guide, so decided to reference it rather than copying it here. The reserved posts are to give room to expand the guide if people point out things I missed. Most of my guides grow over time.

The reason I included Tankers, Pilots, and Snipers is because people who have not played those roles often donGÇÖt know what to do with them, because they are usually separated from the main force. Logi usually play on the Front line, so most new Squad leaders will have a good idea of what Logi are good for.
I did mention the use of Drop Uplinks and Nanite Injectors to keep the squad together, as well as the usefulness of sending someone with Drop Uplinks with the pilot to set spawn points on rooftops.
If there are other specific things you think that a Squad Leader needs to know about working with Logi, I would be interested in getting your perspective.

All very good points. I think some of the stuff you mentioned needs to be worked into my Frontline Infantry Guide.
The truth is I have never played Logi Bro. Early on I saw The Logi Code posted in the Rookie Training Ground and thought to myself: GÇ£That is a great guide! One less guide I have to write!GÇ¥ and so I never specGÇÖed into the Repair Tool. Not because I donGÇÖt have an interest (I fly Logi in EVE), but because I could be more useful to the community learning and writing guides about other roles.
I did recently create a character on another account which I intend to make a Gallente Logi-Bro, but I have been too busy trying to learn Heavy to play him. With 1.7 about to drop, I am going to have to spend several weeks testing stuff and updating my guides for the changes. My Swarm Launcher guide in particular is going to need an overhaul.
So, in short, I donGÇÖt have the first hand experience with Logi-Bro that I have with most other roles.
For full disclosure the things I have no experience in are: Rep Tool, Nova Knives, Tanks. (Short list.)

I am glad you liked the guide.
On my Heavy there never seemed to be logi in my squads when I first started playing him, so for the longest time I was not very good at working with Logi, simply because I was not used to it. Recently I have been having a lot of Logi volunteering to support me and I have found I really like it, so I have been trying to learn how to make their job easier. Maybe I will skill into the rep tool on Fox and try it while testing the Combat Rifle on the Sever suit. I find that playing a role yourself is the best way to learn to support that role.
I always find it very disorienting to be given Squad Lead part way through a battle. Squad Lead requires a different mind set, and I find it is challenging to make the switch mid battle. I am usually ok once we start the next battle and I can look at the game from a Squad Lead perspective from the start. Also, if I was not the one who formed the squad I will sometimes forget that I am Squad Lead and be sitting round the merc quarters wondering when we are going to que up, only to face palm when I remember (or am reminded) that I am squad lead. |

Updated the link section to add the HMG Heavy guide.
Unfortunately my Marksman and SMG guides have been locked due to inactivity. I will put in a ticket to unlock them when I am ready to make more substantial updates to them.

Years ago when I played WOW, I would often lead parties through dungeons. I would always mark the primary and secondary focus fire targets. But WOW had a better user interface. I would be very impressed if a squad leader could do that in DUST. It usually takes me four tries just to get a Defend order on a member of my squad.

Thanks LogiBro. That is the first time I have learned something new reading one of my own guides. The information I had deom Charlie said that the 2500 WP requirement had been doubled, and although I had heard rumors that this was being looked at again, I had not realized that it had been change again.

Kaze Eyrou wrote:Edit 2: Fox, can you "guide" me (I'm so punny) to where it shows 4000 WP for Orbitals by a Blue tag? I want to bookmark it for future reference. Also, my Google-fu apparently failed me because I couldn't find it... I have not yet seen a Blue post stating that the WP requirement for a Warbarge Strike is 40,000 WP. However, since it was Logibro who edited my post and changed the original pre-Charlie amount of 25,000 to the 40,000 WP that the guide lists now, I am going to assume that is correct and that there is a change coming.

Of course I will have to add in all those other Warbarge Strike types...

Added the different types of Warbarge Strikes available as of Uprising 1.10. I still need to add a description of how to select them in the menus, but I need to wait for it to come out so I can try it first.

Added this bit:
If you are the leader of a squad in the squad finder, please set your squad back to Private before leaving for long periods of time. It is annoying to join a squad only to discover that the squad leader is missing in action.
