Scouts need lows(speed,stamina,profile, more HP's) not Highs(less HP's,precision?, DMG bonus?) ?=useful yes, but not more important than HP's in the current TTK environment. With that said, I still prefer my Min scout. Their is just something so satisfying about taking out a squad with Nova Knives & no one even knowing you were there until they're bleeding out on the ground.  However fleeting it may be. 
Shields suck that's the whole crap thing about it, that an I get hurt in 90% of engagements since Ar users just spin an hold the trigger in panic as I try to get that second shot off, so the gallente with the ability to have full HP after a fight works well since the mins base armor sucks, it's better to just use speed an cardio in the lows to run.
That an scan sucks on min, but I love that speed, although since my knive have a lot of damage their fun on the gallente with a pd, an range mods makes nk useable on that suit |

Cool man, it will be nice to have another scout to chill in the barber shop with. If you are having fun why not just put some SP into the light frames as it becomes available, it's not a big investment if you have your core skills up already, and you can always fall back to your other roles if you get tired of being stomped as a low SP scout.
It's a tough road to go down but I wouldn't want to play any other way. Glad you found the light.
Both scouts work fine for me, and I find that although the Minmitar lacks the HP, CPU and scan range, the nova knife bonus is pretty powerful and my situational awareness and keeping my eyes scanning in all directions makes up enough for the lower scan range..... and the speed is nice, super nice. Honestly, I have as much fun with the Min/SMG/knife scout as I do with the Gal/Pistol scout.....

I do know that even well-fitted Scouts are almost non-competitive in PC and that Light Frames in General have needed some work to be done on them for quite some time, but I am willing to drop everything I currently have just to be able to acquire a decent Scout fitting that I could hop on and have some fun with.
To resumarize:
ADV light suit, and ADV scout suit, are really the base for most 'decent' scout fittings. So you dont really need a respec: you can get that stuff in 1-2 weeks of play easy.
ADV light suit actually gets you most of what you want.. and you have to get it anyway to unlock true scout. So run with that for the time being.
Basically, you may want to shove 2xcomplex shields in the high slots, and your 2xdamps in low for now.
Then start working towards level 3 damp, level 3 scout, to be able to free up your low slots for other toys.
If there arent decent scanners on the field, you can go ahead and run the toys anyway :) Then switch to damped as neccessary.
Once you get to 3damp/3scout, you'll be able to avoid most scanners. You'll be able to avoid proto then, witih 2xbasic.
If you get to 3damp/4scout, you'll be able to avoid proto with 1xadvanced.
suggested low slot toys:
2xreactive armor
or
2xrange extenders
some people like kincats. I tend to use them only for initial fit.
You will want to eventually invest in adv uplinks, though, since that lets you deploy 2 at once. |
