The mercenary will remain nameless. I do not know for 100% sure that this is true but from what he had stated while in match, it was pretty convincing. I don't think he was messing around when he said this because he was constantly raving about how much he was loving the game using the new dualshock 4 controller. Check this out.
The PS4 player that I squadded with in game has ties with a sony developer who was able to personally repair his console after it had some issues. While it was being worked on, by some form of exclusivity, his console got patched with the update 2.5 ahead of it's time set to be released. So not just anyone can do this yet.
Not to start any confusion or get anyone's hopes up here, but what he said next was very interesting.
He stated that the update 2.5 on the Playstation 4, set to be released early NEXT YEAR, allows him to play DUST 514 on his PS4 console. The update, set to be released most likely around January-February, will allow this type of digital game to be playable.
So we may have some newcomers to the game sooner than we think.
I need more information on this, so I ask of the community to look more into this since im sure it will surface at some point.
Not to be scrutinized or bashed for this. I am not making this up, I'm simply stating what was reported to me. Hopefully this can be proven either right or wrong at some point here, but know that it just may be possible that....
Cross platform online gaming (PS3/PS4) is already underway here... And that's just awesome if 2.5 really does allow this.
I want my PS4 owners out there to see about finding more information on 2.5, I currently do not own one just yet. I bought a couple games already but am not in a rush to go and get the console just yet because I'm having too much fun playing DUST.
But my wife has been wanting to squad up with me so if this is true than Im gonna have to pick one of these badboys up pretty soon. |

See, that's what I was thinking. So it definitely could be a load of bull, maybe he was just using the DS4 to play and was making it up. IDK, but what I do know is that it would be awesome if it were true. If the PS4 is a powerful enough PC to emulate the PS3 then I think they should do it. You know? like why wouldn't they?
lol I got a ps1 on my phone. Emulators get made to play games from consoles on PC all the time. I'm just saying that I wouldn't be entirely surprised if the PS4 was that adaptive.
But to clear things up. I'm with you, Ima call it bullshit until I see a video of the process as well. |

If its bull, its bull. The damn title was about hook, line, & sinker. Any moon bridge salesman should recognize that junt was to get you to at least come and see what's being said. Anyways..
I figured cloud gaming was our only option, because they had claimed that the hardware wouldn't be backwards compatible otherwise. But if the PS4 is more like a PC now then IDK maybe it could happen (emulation) down the road. |
