A type of equipment/ weapon that allowed you to attach 1/4 types of drones. One drone for each race.
these drones will have their own HP values, they will float above your characters head, and will shoot when you shoot. Thus allowing the player to have his main weapon out, and have a little back up from a little drone buddy.
Their weapons they have equipped are the standard strength side arm weapons for that race. So an amarr drone would fire scrambler pistols shots, a minmitar would have an smg drone. The gelente would have one the uses ion pistol rounds, and the caldari would have a drone that uses either rail pistol, or mag-sec rounds.
There could even by a type for each race that provides minimal healing support for its user. So a heavy could have a drone that reps his armor at 20 points a second.
Higher tier drones have more HP, and stronger weapons. They can also be repaired by any sort of repair tool.

Cat Merc wrote:CCP said drones will take as much computing power as actual players in the game. They rather have more players than drones. That's the issue right now.
Also, a drone repairing 20 armor per second would be slightly OP. But the way I described nearly removes all forms of ai needed. They are just a floating mesh that's parented to the characters model. It looks where you look, and fires when you fire.

It looks where you look, and fires when you fire. And? That mesh floating around is like a character, a tank, a LAV, etc'. And it's still AI if it has to turn around to where you are, and fire when you do. No its not. You can get it to move around with your character without using a single line of code. I could make an example of what im talking about through the use of 2 cubes in blender.
It is called object parenting.
