It's bit out there but he's right...they all have their own agendas.
The Amarr...yeah, I don't think anyone isn't seeing the concerns there.
Gallente ...way too difficult to eliminate all clone mercs. We've spread too far; any attempt to actually do that would push us to anybody but the Feds. Hell, Mordu would take us all in.
Caldari...don't think you need to worry about Tibus Heth anymore. The corporations would vie for control too much for there to be a serious play for us.
Matari...they don't have the resources or capability to be a threat to us and the you are too depending on our services. |

Almost all of it.
I know why I do what I do, I do not feel the need to validate what I am through talk of rebellion.
I am what I made myself, and what my Empire made me. I may not have liked it, I may not have wanted it, but it is my duty to bear this life and do what I can for my people.
You are a self proclaimed first gen, I am a third. There is much that is different about us Steady.

Possibly could be a failsafe but it would only work on the implants that the specific faction installed. They would have to hit the hit the kill switch all at the same time...don't see that happening. Mordu and some of the other non-faction major players have started to create their own Dusters. The faction can't pull off wide spread shut downs...it would put them at too big of a disadvantage.
Don't overlook the opinions of the capsuleers. They've runt he edge with the factions and CONCORD for a long time and no matter what their public allegiances might be individually they are all united in defending their existence. Many still see us as poor cousins but they WILL pay attention if someone makes a move against us.

That is a joke, don't ever consider that these people who made us can't unmake us.
They can and will if they must. Mortals have this urgency about them that we just do not have, give them time and they will have dozens of ways to unmake our kind. We are only as immortal as the clone stocks last.

Point taken, True.
I know they have the potential to kill us off. I simply think that it would be such an expensive proposition and requires such deep collaboration amongst the Factions that it's not viable option at the moment. That being said, things could unexpectedly change and the situation may one day shift where it begins to look like possible course of action.
I also go back go my comment about the capsuleers. We should be cultivating deeper connections with them and learn from some of the steps they take to safeguard their existence. I've also heard talk of some of hyena bigger merc outfits putting out feelers to CONCORD. |

They use very high-tech mind control devices to keep the populace in check, and only us immortals are free from it.

Odd person. Not very well informed, though.
The smallest of the empires, population-wise, is the Caldari State, and it's militarily the strongest. State Executor Tibus Heth did try to wipe out the first generation of Caldari clone soldiers, though some evidently escaped with the assistance of Mordu's Legion. The second and succeeding generations were subject to no such purge, and have been permitted a sort of absurd level of liberty to act as they (we) see fit.
Actually, it's the level of freedom we're allowed that makes me think the Jove, or their agents, are still a power in New Eden. If you look at us from the perspective of a rational administrator, we're an expensive and extremely dangerous new form of weapon, something to be tightly controlled. Our small numbers, high efficiency, lethality, and quasi-immortality should logically have kept us restricted to use as black ops weapons by empire militaries. We should logically almost be slaves, if probably well-treated ones.
Unless we're all under the sway of transcranial microcontrollers weaving our own private realities around us in which we are freelance mercenaries, this is an absurd use of the technology. It's like building a terrifyingly effective weapon and then giving it away. It's nonsense. Nobody would do it.
... That is, unless the policy is shaped by someone else, someone who wants us independent for some purpose. Someone dying, perhaps, and looking for a way to continue their own civilization? I thought for a long time that this must surely be true of the capsuleers (whose situation is nearly as absurd), but it seems just as necessary for us.
As a matter of conventional policy-making, no one sane would put us in this position. There must be something else at work here.
It seems likely that we are being groomed for something. |
