Anyone else remember Chromosome when the AR had so much dispersion it was near useless from +40m? Bring that back.
I tried to put a level into Amarr Commando once, but got a server notification saying "Why?"

Now that they finally fixed hit detection, this could work again. The only difference between Uprising and Chromosome now is that every weapon has sharpshooter proficiency 5 range. This would promote more burst firing instead of just tapping the damn trigger with 0 recoil.

Outside a certain range, you had to rely on incidental damage when you just leaned on the trigger.

+1. It should be less than the kick on the AScR though. It also needs to be turbo-controller-proof. The AR, ScR, SMG and most likely the new rifles need a base damage nerf as well.

Woah easy there fella. The gallente assault rifles kick should build up as more shots are fired. Not instant uncontrollable kick from the get go. Firing in bursts should be encoouraged, rather than not firing the weapon at all. |

I played some CoD yesterday. Haven't played in over a year.
First thing I noticed was TTK for both games were about the same.
So, I used the Duvolle today, went 38/1. Haven't used that gun in months. But I right away noticed that it kills FASTER than CoD. 10 bullets; done. 10 bullets; done. 10 bullets; done. Uh oh! Heavy! 20 bullets; done.
My Imperial does actually faster, but the skill curve on the Duvolle is non-existent. Everything dies before the recoil kicks in anyway.
But, skill is not part of FPS, and certianly not part of DUST. Sometimes I ask myself, why don't I use the Imperial or Duvolle all the time?
I use a starter fit, I die 10x, simply becasue I'm out classed. I use a Protoweapon on a basic suit and I die maybe 10x over 15 matches... Better gear makes you better in this game, it's meant to be that way. Better gear is earned, and thank god for that because most of these "protostompers" are jokes. The only thing that saves them is the fact they have 4x the HP and 25% the DPS.
If you are running proto, and a starter fit breaks your shields (Gallente included) you are a scrub at that point, whether you win the gunfight or not. |
