Lets talk about the DB of the equipment we drop on the field guys, why not using the DB of the wielder for the equipment you drop, proto scanner ( and other ) its, for me way too easy for detecting equipment and this may be help infiltrator and the sell of dampener, what do you guys think about this? |

If there was some magical way to make the deicbles 'flavored' I would be all for 'dropsuits' 1 flavor, equipment 2 flavor, vehicles 3 flavor. and then have scanners and equipment suited around that concept.

First, thanks for the reply, i appreciate it. If i understand you, you want different equipment with different decibels.
Example: Proto uplink with 25 spawn, 50% time reduction and a db of 45 Proto uplink with 20 spawn, 50% time reduction and a db of 33
Same for suit and vehicule did im correct?

This is really a great idea, don't know if it is possible with the coding, can our equipment be matched to our DB, it would be great if this is possible. As an alternative equipment designed with lower DB would be nice, stealth uplinks in particular.

My idea here is simple, we all know scout are simply not good currently, some talk to bring more module to them, personnaly i try to find a way to definite a role on the battlefield for scout, like you see at proto lvl we have less module so my idea is simple, bring more bonuses, like this possibility, i understand the position of IWS to said in reality db of equipment and suit not connect, but repairing faster with your amarr logi and the cool down of the SCR rifle of the amarr asault.... I dont think its connected with the suit tooo you know what i mean. Its set before the battle, so i feel scout can have this exclusive bonuse, the goal... Simple---> getting a role for our scout in PC and Coorporation will want a good scout in their team to fill the infiltrator role, we gonna get valuable because curently we laugh at us. I feel the community want specific role with class like CPM, with that i feel its a step forward |

I was thinking different types of sensors needed for different types of scanning. Eve does this with ladar radar gravimetric and magnetic.
But for adapted shooter needs just have them Equipment, Infantry, and Vehicle scanners. Some scanners would be better at picking one type of object over the other.

Make sense honestly, im guessing active scanner better for scanning humanoid, vehicule for equipment and the passive scan med in both. What do you think about my two proposal :
- having equipment with lower db but reduce the quality of it compare to other in is category - giving a bonus reduction to the scout equipment db per lvl of racial scout you had or given the scout db to equipment
I will appreciate if you ( and the other CPM ) can give your opinion on this where i describe it on my previous post. Personnaly i think it's an absolute necessity to give to the scout the chance to have the edge on infiltration. Logistic can have plenty of equipment, things that i agree no doubt but with our lack of defense CPU/PG and equipment slot, i feel we need to get the advantage on db for balance. You still can see with your eyes the equipment like before active scanner anyway. The biggest problem for scout are when you compare proto lvl with the other class, the scout miss something, mainly in PC . I just try to found him a niche and give him a specefic role, something that a lot of player complain about. |

I think this is probably over complicating things.
I would like to see much longer range scans (passive and active) with significant falloff. (Unfortunately this would be computationally expensive :( Perhaps combine it with pulse passive scanning? I.e You do a passive scan every x seconds.)
-Then you'd be able to see a tank 50m from you but not the tank 100m from you (or whatever). -It would hopefully also provide a purpose for covert ops variants of equipment and vehicles. -It would also make it worth while to fit a profile damp even if it doesn't bring you under the scanners rating. You'd be harder to detect at range.
Graduation of scans could be good too. A perfect scan gives you dropsuit size (add different symbols for different frame sizes), location and facing (add directionality to vehicle markers on the maps) and less good scan give you progressively less info.
Other random thoughts: -A module that shares passive scans with your squad. -Link suit profile to audio footprint. So a high profile tank/dropsuit has a loud engine/footsteps whereas a low profile thing is quiet. -Link actions to profile. Sprinting, shooting (different weapons could have different modifiers - covert ops variants), activating modules. |

Yes, I really like this. Assuming Vehicles had a dB value and dampening is an option, having varying efficacy like the repair tools do would be excellent.
Basic is just a 46 all around
ADV has 3 versions per type of scanner. So ADV scanner would be 36/40/46 . And Proto would be 28/36/40.
